Profile of Qualifications

Highly motivated and results-oriented; able to work independently or cooperatively as part of a team to accomplish goals. Have worked in both highly structured military, highly structured civilian and loosely structured small manufacturing environments.

Possess solid working background in quality assurance, quality control, security and plant management. Bring to projects a solid background in hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial controls, electricity and electronics. Intellectually and competitively prepared to excel in fast-paced and challenging quality, technical, and security environments. Well-organized, meticulous and dependable; able to effectively prioritize work, completing multiple, concurrent assignments in a timely and professional manner. Fully PC and Mac computer literate (sorry, no code writing). Self-taught in Allen-Bradley PLC programming language. Proficient with Rhinoceros 3D CAD software, having designed and manufactured various components of steel, zirconium and precious metal alloys. Work History

March 14, 2005 to August 31, 2015 Gemvision, Davenport, IA 10 years production, customer support, troubleshooting and R&D for desktop 4 axis CNC milling systems. 10 years of CAD design work using the Rhinoceros software suite. Gemvision presented the unique opportunity to develop CAD–3D modeling skills as well as becoming familiar with CNC milling machinery. While specialized toward the jewelry industry, CNC processes and 3D modeling software are generic in nature, running on top of the Rhinoceros CAD software suite. Involved in the introduction of three different generations of desk top milling machines, as well as having done the R&D work to bring milling of larger objects (by jewelry standards) such as bracelets to Gemvision’s developing foreign market (Middle and Far East). Developed solid skills running Rhinoceros CAD software for modeling virtually any type of 3D object. 1997 – 2005 Moulded Fibre Technology, Clinton, IA

8 years as a commercial Quality Assurance Manager in a manufacturing environment. Created the Quality Assurance system and achieved Certification with Underwriters Labs (UL), then recertification from ISO 9000:1994 to ISO 9000:2000 with UL. This required collecting scribbled operator’s notes, verbal instructions and plant diagrams into a cohesive set of controlled procedures then creating the document control system necessary to meet ISO 9000 requirements.

While performing as QA Manager also functioned as plant Process Engineer. During that time self–taught the Allen Bradley SLC-5 PLC systems. Used this knowledge to make modifications and improvements to four (4) manufacturing lines including replacement of mismatched equipment, troubleshooting and streamlining PLC command software, and improving the efficiency of the production process. When all production lines were consolidated to the Clinton, Iowa, location, replaced the FANUC PLC system of one production line with A-B SLC-5 hardware to streamline inventory, maintenance and programming. Programmed and completed trouble shooting of said converted system.

During hardware relocation to Clinton, Iowa, worked with the original designers to improve control of process variables identified as critical to high production volume with assured quality. These included a dedicated electrical supply for all instrumentation and sensors, and controlling process water stream pressure. In that same time period assumed the role of Plant Electrician for purposes of maintenance, working on 120 VAC and 440 VAC systems.
