Hands-on experience of FEA (Finite Element Analysis), simulation and modeling of mechanical designs/analysis and materials manufacture/processing, including heat transfer, thermal-stress, structure, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, in ANSYS Multiphysics (APDL), Fluent, ABAQUS, and computer programming with C and Fortran.

(Tasks: Design the materials by software package ThermoCalc; Model the heat transfer and stress during coating/cladding; Design of Experiment (DOE) to optimize the operation parameters.

High Temperature Resistance Claddings for Nuclear Thermal Rockets.

(Tasks: Design the experiment, Collect data through observation in the experimentation and modeling results, Test hypotheses by models and through experiments; Interpret test data and correlate them to models.

Pipe cladding by arc lamp.

(Tasks: Thermal/deflection data acquisition; Experimental data statistics, analysis, and the correlation between operational parameters and thermal/deformation observation; Thermal/fluid (conjugate heat transfer) modeling for component design/correction; Thermal-stress analysis by FEA; 3D CAD/CAE model components to support the development of CFD models and to correct the design of components; CFD analyses for flow to assess and/or modify the flow characteristics of the components in order to meet design requirements.
