Technical support to operations (Nylon and Spandex). Responsible for all phases of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup for equipments and processes of a new Spandex facility in Brazil.

Responsible for addressing Spandex technical customer quality consistency issues and implementing technical programs to improve quality consistency.

Selected Contributions:

Re start of a Spandex spinning facility after being idled for a year. 300 tons additional spandex volume

Addressed complex trade issues (fabric uniformity). $100,000 out of pocket claims avoidance per year

Developed Spandex for sock tops, additional 20 tons volume per year

LYCRA® SPANDEX worldwide DuPont’s BMT award for innovation, technical excellence and differentiation, for implementing a solution to eliminate spandex packages’ rejects due to defects (side loops) 2% yield increase

Implemented a Six-Sigma Black Belt project to reduce finish on yarn variability.

Member of a team nominated for the Engineering Excellence Award for the development of a prototype Nylon spinning machine.
