Fused Layer ABS Rocketry Experiment (F.L.A.R.E) – Senior Design Project

Design and measurement engineer to model the rocket and assemblies utilizing Solidworks.

Created a proactive team environment with a personal strong work ethic to design and test 3D printed solid rocket fuel grains to increase thrust characteristics for a Hybrid Rocket.

Multiple successful test firings of the 3D printed Hybrid Rocket fuel grain. The designed fuel grain burned 10% better to the industry standard fuel grain and achieved Mach 3. Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Mechanical Engineering Intern

Evaluated and improved manufacturing methods along with capabilities and production processes for turbine parts. Enhanced skills in decision making, multi-tasking, and prioritizing of daily tasks.

Collaborated to create a system which made the work environment safer and more efficient. Labeled and organized part fixtures for before and after use. Outcome increased efficiency, production and safety.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Summer Engineering and Technology Program

Engineering Conference where a team of 4 Engineering Students designed and built a VEX robot and programmed the robot to battle other robots, climb a stack of books, and pull the most weight.

CAD and FEM Experience:

o Designed and created Hybrid Rocket test stand and combustion chamber. o Designed and ran FEM analysis on a Backhoe and Ford Mustang. o Built the Mustang drive shaft and Backhoe main body. o Dynamic FEM analysis on a Mustang to test aerodynamics and wheel stress.
