SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Assigned to a high profile Shell job in the North Sea which was suffering huge losses due to severe well issues. Worked overtime through the night mixing and pumping multiple LCM pills which eventually slowed the losses substantially. Implemented Versapac© (a rheological additive) which slowed down the flow enough to enable cementing of the well, this solved the well issue and saved Shell over $1 million on further lost oil based mud. The well was subsequently drilled to completion with no further losses.

Challenged with containing, removing and disposing of drill cuttings on a large-scale Chevron project in Kern River, Bakersfield using Sumpless drilling. Designed and implemented a sprinkler / mister system which sprayed water over the shakers as the cuttings passed, removing excess mud and vastly reducing the volume of cuttings requiring treatment and disposal. The client was so impressed that the system was adopted across all the Chevron rigs drilling in the area, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars each year on disposal of the cuttings and chemicals for treatment.

Finished MI Swaco Mud School in top 3 out of 95 and was rapidly promoted from trainee to second engineer after only 2 weeks, working on and successfully completing multiple wells as the night engineer.
