WORK HISTORY

2015-present QUALCOMM: Senior Application Engineer - San Jose, CA

Responsibilities:

As the technical support lead, ensure successful integration of 802.11 WLAN, Bluetooth, and GPS products into mobile, PC, and consumer electronics. engaged with a customer to design PCB for application platform, be able to map out the technical details of a system integration plan, from project start through mass production. Working with various instruments, such as Litepoint (VSA,SGA), (VSA,SGA), for performance measurement of different Tx / RX modulation skim like 802.11 a,b,c, n, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, VSA, and scopes., including managing customer issues, technical design support, document/information release process.

2013-2015 Canopus system (Title Senior RFIC Design Engineer)

Working with 30 engineers to integrate hardware in satellite system, the primary application of satellite’s payload is Earth imaging, so the architecture is oriented around the collection, filtering, storage, retrieval, and transmission of image data, my rolls was to Develop and implement RF solutions for radio in Ka-Band for data transmitting, UHF radio for control and communication and ensure the RF component / any radio with sub blokes meeting the spec: RF power amps, DROs, mixers, filters, matching networks to antenna, etc, to do so it needs schematic and layout through PCB design.

To get best RF performance testing Using bench equipment; network/spectrum/vector analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, RF amps, etc.

Tuned UHF (400 MHz) Antenna and measure gain, antenna pattern test and input matching of antenna.

Measured horn antenna for Ka-Band (26.8 GHz).

2012-2013 HMICRO (Title Senior RFIC Design Engineer)

Designing transceiver for medical market based on Wifi and UWB technique, my responsibility was design receiver from antenna to ADC interface and 32kHz oscillator for standby mode to generate clock for digital and do layout work for some of blocks.

To prepare for testing we designed PCB and after testing of RF hardware works as expectation.

Tools:

RF Specter Cadence V6.1 to do simulation and extraction, ADS for system simulation (link budget simulation)

Frequency was 2.4GHz at RF and bandwidth of baseband 5MHz.

2011-2012 Pixel Sand Inc (Title Senior RFIC Design Engineer)

To design and perform a power amplifier 20dBm for Zigbee application with layout design at ADS. (Process: SOI tower Jazz) and design PCB for testing of PA.

To develop an efficient power Amplifier 30dBm for Zigbee application (Process: SiGe tower Jazz).

Tools:

ADS to do in/output matching and inter-stage matching, do momentum simulation for BALUN.

Frequency range was 2.4GHz.

209-2011 Aviacomm (Title Senior RFIC Design Engineer)

Developing Supper-Wifi. it covers from 300MHz to 3GHz for Google requirement. The design challenge was both in transmitter and receiver especially in so large Bandwidth, high requirement in linearity, dynamic gain rang, adaptive filtering . Most of the work was to improve linearity of transmitter stage and improve receiver noise figure in so wide bandwidth rage.

Tools:

RF Specter Cadence V6.1... to do simulation and extraction and layout, ADS for system simulation, linearty and EVM performance of transceiver (link budget simulation) and for testing of RFIC we designed PCB.

Frequency was from 300MHz to 3GHz at RF and bandwidth of baseband was adaptive from 1.25MHz to 10MHz.

2005-2009 UMC (Title Senior RFIC Design Engineer)

To develop UWB transceiver. The transmitter blocks were: Power Amplifier with 16 dB dynamic range with P1dB compression of 4dBm, IQ modulator with LO-cancellation, LPF (3rd order Chebyshev gmC filter), Buffer and the band gap reference that deliver sufficient current and voltage to the LNA receiver, Modulator, LPF (5th order gmC filter), PGA (with DC offset cancelation), Buffer. The process was 0.13um UMC at 1.2Volts.gt

To test performance of IC we design PCB.

Accomplishment:

The first transmitter tapeout was successfully meeting measurement spec (measurement result can be present).

Receiver was functional %80 after first tapeout.

WiMAX-project: to design LNA, Mixer and PA in UMC process for validation of UMC’s process in 65nm. After tapeout all three blocks were packaged and measured and measurement result was successful (measurement result can be present).
