Supplier Quality Engineer (April 2014 – PRESENT)

Responsibilities include: monitor, audit, and coordinate suppliers. Verify and ensure compliance to Jacobsen’s requirements and quality standards. Perform supplier visits to confirm compliance of quality processes, procedures, and standards. Suggest process improvements and collaborate with internal customers -i.e. manufacturing engineering, design engineering, planning, purchasing, NPD (New Product Development), and production floor to improve and guarantee incoming quality products while adhering to volatile timelines based upon sales, available inventory, and product launch goals.

Quality Management

Propose, initiate, and monitor ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) to promote product quality improvement, ease of manufacturing, corrective actions, and resolve known field issues

Follow through and execute closure of NCMTs (Non-Conforming Material Transactions)

Assist all production assembly lines and back-shops (welding, forming, machining, powder coating, and grinding) to identify root cause and communicate with suppliers to quickly resolve issues as they arise

Pursue both external and internal corrective actions (8D, 5-WHYs, FMEA, CAPA {Corrective and Preventative Actions}, error-proofing, material handling, product/process redesign, and limited SPC)

Analyze new part inspection results, material conformance documentation, and supplier ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) for corrective action and approval of PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process)

Provide PSW (Part Submission Warrant) upon review and acceptance of sample part submission

Production Control Analyst/Specialist (April 2013 – April 2014)

Responsible for the coordination of supply lines that ensures manufacturing uptime and/or service part fulfillment. Create daily/weekly production schedule based upon monthly MBS (master build schedule). Accountable for 100% on-time delivery of customer orders. Collaborate with purchasing, quality, and engineering to resolve material shortages impacting production schedule achievement. Monitor inventory levels for JIT (Just in Time) production flow. Powder Coat Paint Technician Lead (April 2008 – April 2013)

I accepted the role of Powder Coat Technician Lead of two powder coating systems in addition to other responsibilities listed below. Responsible for 35+ employees charged with all manufacturing supervisory duties including: shift-level production output, hourly employee quarterly/yearly performance reviews, approval of employee vacation/leave to ensure minimal impact upon daily productivity, disciplinary action, and employee daily assignments. Ensure adherence to all EPA and OSHA regulations involving local and federal requirements related to hazardous chemical storage, usage, and disposal. Monitor all aspects of powder coating systems to ensure superior quality: titration, manage preparation of part surfaces/procedures for proper adhesion and final finish requirements, review/analyze defects to identify root cause and implement process improvements, monitor surface impingement for proper cleaning/performance, monitor/train employees in verification of quality paint application.

Paint Technician Lead Duties

Process work orders and monitor production flow to satisfy both daily production needs and long term performance goals

Communicate with internal supply chain and production assembly lines to determine and meet hourly/daily production needs

Monitor and communicate necessary repairs and PM’s (preventative maintenance) of all aspects of powder coating systems

Propose/implement process improvements such as racking, ergonomics, batching, scheduling, and rework processes as needed

CNC Fabrication Lead (April 2003 – April 2008)

Supervise crew of 20 employees in fast paced manufacturing environment. Responsible for all aspects of weld, in-line powder paint system, grinding, forming, lasers, and robot welders. Accountable for daily production output and report to management daily/weekly results. Manage, update, and schedule available vacation, earned time off, and casual time available for team members and manage vacation requests based upon customer demand.
