2006- Present Principal Accountant: Municipal Parking Dept. City of Detroit

Conduct monthly reviews of the operations of Joe Louis Arena, the

annual reserved hockey audit, process and issue meter cards. Process

refunds for monthly users, input monthly operators expense reports into

legacy system. Audit petty cash for the Parking Violations Bureau and the

Automotive Parking System. Prepare vendor/operator statements for

payment. Approve Purchase Requisitions and Orders for payments.

Reconcile the Operations and Maintenance accounts for the department.

Input Budget amounts into BRASS. Perform field audits as requested and

prepare reports for management.

2002-2006 Principal Accountant: Treasury Dept., City of Detroit

Supervise twenty-five personnel that comprise the property tax refund

section, the correspondence section, the property tax section and the

machine room for the Treasury Division. Reconcile the legacy systems

(BARS-Billing and Accounts Receivable System & Equalizer) to the

Oracle System for property taxes paid. Make adjusting entries into all

systems. Handle taxpayer questions and concerns. Act as liaison between

banks, mortgage companies, tax services and the city for questionable

transactions. Import payments into the system electronically and manually.

Maintain mortgage code list for electronic posting of property taxes.

Research questionable payments for reconciliation into the systems

1998-2002 Senior Accountant: Health Department City of Detroit

Worked as a Project, Grant and Budget Accountant for the Health

Department. Trained as a Subject Matter Expert for Oracle Core Financials

for the City of Detroit. Reported Grant spending to various governmental

agencies and input entries into the Core Financials. Established Project

Accounting entries into Oracle Core Financials to track spending. Reconciled

the revenues for the Vital Statistics Bureau.

Reconciled seventeen bank accounts monthly, at the Water and Sewage

Department, to the two legacy systems and the bank for the funds that each

account represented. Made adjusting entries into the General Ledger and
