RELEVANT ORACLE EXPERIENCE

Oracle installation on Windows 2008 Server: Installed and configured a Windows 2008 Server on a new Machine using VMWare. Created Windows Users/Groups, enabled remote Desktop, Fixed IP address/DNS/ Default Gateway, configured inbound / outbound oracle related traffic on the Windows Firewall. Installed Oracle 11gR2 (Software only) and created OLTP database using DBCA. Installed /configured Oracle 11g Client on your Windows 7/8 workstation and defined connection to the database using SQL*Plus, Oracle SQL Developer and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Results: Successfully installed Oracle on Windows 2008 Server.

Installed ASM Instance plus Oracle 11gR2 Database: Installed and configured Grid Infrastructure for Automatic Storage Management (ASM). Selected installation method, specified inventory directory and credentials, selected the installation type and location. Result: Successfully installed and configured Grid Infrastructure for ASM using Oracle 11gR2.

Performance Tuning - Reduced resource consumption or elapsed time for an operation to complete by identifying the overused resource that is the bottleneck in the system. Completed a series of steps, including server and network tuning, instance tuning, object tuning and SQL tuning. Result: Successfully tune an Oracle database in a test environment.

RMAN Hot & Cold Backup and Switching to Archive log Mode: Configured hot backup settings using Enterprise Manager and performed the cold backup using RMAN. Experienced in configuration options and execution. Results: Successfully performed both Hot and Cold backup using two different tools, OEM and RMAN.

RMAN Restore-Recover, loss of Control file and Data file: Simulated a disaster by deliberately deleting 1 control file and one data file. Implemented RMAN restore/recover steps as recreating the Server Parameter file to get the database working again. Restored control file and redo log on new disk as part of disaster recovery strategy. Results: Successfully executed a RMAN Restore of the Control and Data file.

Created Tablespace for Roles, Users, and Privileges: Configured and set up tablespace, role, user and assigning System and Object privileges using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

Used Data Pump and SQL Loader to Move Data: the purpose of the project was to move data from non-Oracle source into Oracle Database as well as move data between Oracle Databases. Used SQL*Loader and Data Pump utilities to move a flat file and a Table. Result: Using SQL script, successfully moved data from a non-Oracle source as well as moving data between Oracle Database.
