At present I am attached to Vivekananda Institute of Medical Science, (Ramkrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan,) Calcutta as Assistant Professor for last four years which entails taking postgraduate classes in general surgery .In addition there are regular seminars and presentations as part of their curriculum which are conducted under teaching faculty on a rotational basis. I am also a co guide for supervising dissertation of MS students.
I am also attached to some of the Corporate hospitals in Kolkata as Consultant Laproscopic and General Surgeon .One such is Sree Aurobindo Seva Kendra, which is a 120 bedded hospital and AMRI hospital.

I. Clinical Experience in the U.K.
(i) Registrar in General Surgery in Furness General Hospital
Registrar Rotation in General Surgery: July 96- Oct ober 97
I have worked in units dealing in Upper Gastro- Intestinal Surgery, Upper Gastro- Intestinal Surgery Endoscopy, both diagnostic and therapeutic . In U.K. I have performed several Laproscopic Surgeries as well as Endoscopies independently as part of my training programme .I competently managed upper and lower gastro-intestinal endoscopy both diagnostic and therapeutic . I had an independent theatre list every week.
I am competent in managing and performing elective and emergency surgical cases.
My operative experience includes (naming a few):

Under him I gained experience in mastectomies and breast biopsies, both open and needle localisation. Also, I have had training in endoscopic surgery. I had an independent theatre list in the next placement.
(iii) Manchester Royal Infirmary

I have assisted my Consultants in various open heart and thoracic procedures like pneumonectomy, lobectomies.
