Physical Design and Verification

M.E. Project:

Title : Video Shot Boundary Detection Using Block Matching Algorithms.

Language of implementation: MATLAB and Simulink 2010a.

Description: I have simulated Block Matching Algorithms to detect the motion activity between the frames of video. Three recently developed block matching algorithms; Adaptive Rood Pattern Search, Diamond Search and Four Step Search Algorithms; are implemented on various types of videos to detect shot boundary by extracting motion vectors between frames. Each frame of video are of size 320 240 at the rate of 30 frames per second. This project is done in MATLAB and Simulink 2010a. The performances of three Block Matching Algorithms have been compared using the speed and number of points used to detect shot, PSNR performance and efficiency. I concluded that Adaptive Rood give better results than other algorithms. This has better efficiency in video shot detection than other algorithm.

B.E. Project:

Title : Division Based on Vedic Mathematics.

Language of implementation: C & VHDL.

Description: We have implemented C-program and VHDL implementation for division using Vedic Mathematics. On implementation we found that less time and space is consumed as compared to the conventional method. Vedic Mathematics is a technique of calculations based on simple rules and principles with which mathematical problem can be solved in less time. The program valid for integer but is invalid for float or fractional value. It ranges from 0 to 32,767. It can be used in processor to fasten up the speed. It can used in aerodynamics, Banking, astronomy.
