Consultant for original group of Hydrovolts Investors to help assist in relocating the R&D and manufacturing space to New York from Seattle, educate third party engineering companies on turbine technology and work as a liaison during the transition period.

Working from the Seattle location, successfully completed 2 phases of a micro hydro pilot project at the largest wastewater treatment plant in the world including: Project Scope and budget, coordination with key plant personnel, modification of existing turbine, installation & commissioning at the Chicago location and monitoring of the system over a period of 6 months.

Managed vendors and subcontractors, (mechanical, electrical, controls and data collection) to support above project.

Gave direction and insight to the investor group as to which products and markets had merit and which did not.

PROJECT ENGINEER / R & D / LEAD MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER Principal project and lead mechanical design engineer supporting the development of Large Scale Floating Hydrokinetic Turbines for Irrigation Canals and Small Scale Micro-Hydro Turbines for Wastewater Treatment Plants. Develop project scope, allocate resources and lead team of engineers, designers and drafters to ensure project success. Hands on development and fabrication of custom sub and full-scale prototypes for in-house testing, design verification and installation at pilot project locations.

Provide engineering leadership to cross functional team in support of company R & D projects.

Develop project SOW, allocate resources, direct work flow and ensure mileposts are met in a timely manner and within budget.

Development and fabrication of working prototypes and systems that support product development – prototypes include large scale floating turbines as well as sub scale floating and micro-hydro turbines.

Design and fabricate test apparatus including mechanical, electrical and software systems to facilitate product refinement – recirculating tanks, flow monitoring equipment, load banks and data acquisition systems.

Design and define hydropower specific elements such as floating enclosures, ballast tanks, cross flow hydrokinetic rotors, micro- hydro runner and nozzle assemblies, anchoring systems, flow control systems, etc.
