I graduated with a BS Degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of North Carolina. I was successful in passing the CPA exam in 1966. My accounting/finance career began as an auditor with the national accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. For approximately thirty years (1968-1997) I was an executive manager/chief financial officer of five different hospital companies – Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System. Humana (Louisville), Brookwood Medical Center (AL.), Healthcare Services of America, Inc. (AL), and Innovative Healthcare Systems, Inc. (AL). I ended my accounting/financial career with Vulcan Painters. Inc, a family owned industrial painting company in Birmingham, AL, with my retirement in 2005. From 2012-2015 I have been a seasonal tax employee with Stuedle, Spears, Francke PSC.
