Job Roles and Responsibilities

Dec 2010 - Present Government of Gibraltar

Statistics Department

Within this department, I conduct "tourist surveys" within various locations within Gibraltar.

I am also in charge of purchasing and payment of various office required items. I also research into new products and ideas that may be of help within the office or producing work outside.

I have also helped prepare the Cost of Living "irp" figures as well as the Gibraltar Budget. I consolidate and prepare the reports as well as bind them and organise delivery.

I have also done the Employment survey report for the ministers.

My other duties are general office management, such as filing, answering the telephones, organising meetings, filing and any other work that needs to be done.

Treasury

I was working in the payroll department of the Gibraltar Government and produce over 3000 salaries monthly. This involves collating information, making adjustments for payments and data input. I am also responsible for checking others work and input, before balance with payment vouchers and sending them for signatures. I then have to produce payment files for the Payment section.

I also undertake the calculation and payment of arrears in salary and even overpayments and adjustments should the occur. I also have to do my own filing and resolve any IT issues that may arise within the system or general IT issues.

During my time within the Treasury, I have been moved into differing sections due to staffing issues, which shows my adaptability and willing to try differing activities.

Within the Currency section I was responsible for circulating coins to individuals and banks, dealing with large amounts of money through bank redemptions, dealing with the local lottery, recording and distributing LPO and Receipt books as well as printing out cheques for the DSS. When acting in this section I have been responsible for all aspects of the currency section.

When I was transferred to the Treasury IT section, I was responsible for purchasing PC equipment and monitoring expenditure as not to exceed the yearly budget. I also had to run the backup procedures as well as creating and checking BACS discs, organising boards of destruction, and producing reports from the Treasury Accounting Systems. When acting in this section, I had to organise my work around the needs of others to make sure that everything ran as smooth as possible.

Working in the shop dealing with customers on a daily basis, prepare orders, deal with suppliers and help with deliveries. I also help resolve the IT issues that occur.

I was the Sales and Purchasing Manager, which involved producing quotes, and ordering goods for both clients and stock. I also produced reports and covered receptionist and administrative duties. I also undertook IT technician work when required.

Within this job role I was a Corporate Administrator, which meant I would deal with customer queries and complaints regarding their offshore accounts. I would then liaise with my superiors for the best course of action.

I am in charge of ordering stock and checking the duty etc on the stock. Plus doing stock takes. Dealing with customers and suppliers is another of my main tasks
