Set and tuned the physical property testing targets of more than two dozen rubber compounds as well as numerous non-rubber raw materials (fabric and wire) used in civilian and military aircraft tires contracted to America and her allies. Added and altered tests based on changing business needs. Adjusted mixing and processing parameters to meet corporate specs based on relevant lab testing results.

Responsible for the quality and waste of processing of these components on calenders (gum and fabric), extruders, and shears; troubleshooting and eliminating variation, driving process improvement at both the plant and the corporate level, and reporting of quality trends to management up to the director level.

Heavily involved in development of new compounds, components, and process methods to develop and perfect entirely new technologies. Drove these trials to completion by bringing together teams made up of quality, production, scheduling, design, engineering, IT, and corporate resources. Developed and delivered reports on testing and processing and made recommendations on possibility of industrialization.

Utilized problem solving methods such as A3, FMEA, Convergent Diagnostics, and DMAIC. Demonstrated use of these methods to solve issues as well as present them to upper management as an explanation of the mindset and methodology behind work performed

Developed and industrialized manufacturing and oversaw die development for new manufacturing processes including silicone, high viscosity heavily loaded compounds, and polymer blends.

Revamped inventory system; increased annual material inventory turnover from 7 to 16 cycles.

Developed entirely new work instructions for hand-mixed cast urethane operations.

Extensive training, education, and hands-on experiences with industry-standard rubber equipment – Banbury mixers, breakdown and mixing mills, hot and cold feed extruders, compression, transfer, and injection molding presses, and lab equipment such as ODR/MDR rheology, Moony scorch, RPA, adhesion, and MTE.

Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and 365.

Able to read blueprints.
