LEADER IN PLANT EXCELLENCE
Consistently ranked first out of 7 plants within North America in the categories of inventory, safety, quality, and production efficiency. This was an amazing 16 year track record of success to continuously rank at the top of all plants.
SUPPLY CHAIN - INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Oversaw approximately $6-7 million in inventory and consistently had the lowest inventory variance out of 7 plants.
Established a custom bond within the new plant to maintain greater cash flow using timely release of inventory. Negotiated with Canada Customs to allow key overseas shipments to be released as needed and only paying this duty.
COST SAVINGS – RECYCLING & LABOUR EFFICIENCY
Saved the plant approximately $250,000 annually by changing 80% of cartons used to recycled cartons.
Improved labour efficiency and saved $100,000 per year in staffing costs. Created and analysed production tracking reports that were generated at 3 points during each day. Identified redundancies and eliminated shifts.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Created a record of 3 consecutive years with no lost time due to accidents. Started a Health & Safety (H&S) Committee and served on the committee as a certified member for development and implementation of new policies/ procedures.

This is the largest Canadian home fashion textile manufacturing and is the largest market share leader even today.
Oversaw all plant operations and general management where directed 80 to 100 employees within the largest textile manufacturing plants in Canada that serviced major clients Wal-Mart, Sears, Costco, The Hudson’s Bay Company, Home Outfitters, Winners, and Home Sense. Collaborated with the corporate head office, an internal sales team, purchasers, managers, and supervisors to develop short and long-term strategies and action plans that supported the execution of new programs, initiatives, and special orders. Coordinated workflow and scheduling based on customer needs, inventory availability, deadlines, and production capacity and capability, to ensure optimal usage of resources, efficiency, and quality. Entire management team was downsized and then outplaced after sale of business.
Created new production and execution plans that included additional shifts to accommodate large customer orders. Met with Sales team to discuss plant capabilities, client needs and deadlines. Liaised with customers in the rare instances of returns to augment the manufacturing process to prevent subsequent issues.
Conducted regular operational reviews, analyzing information to identify areas for process improvement, opportunities to integrate lean manufacturing processes, and upgraded training for employees.
Oversaw financial controls and budgeting for the plant, generating the annual plant budget using sales forecasts and the prior year’s budget. Reviewed the manufacturing expense report monthly and adjusted expenditures to meet budgetary requirements as needed.

Secured the highest grade on the company-wide quarterly reviews out of 7 North American plants in the first quarter of 2013. Received top grades from the corporate office in key categories including Execution, Quality, Safety, Inventory Control, Manufacturing Expenses, Cost Saving/Innovation, Environmental, and Leadership.
Invited new Hollander Plant leaders from the U.S. to observe Canadian plant best practices and train them.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Successfully passed the province of Ontario’s Work Well Program safety audit in 2003 and 2010. Collaborated with the H&S Committee to ensure compliance in advance of the initial audit. Facilitated an increase in production, and an Oracle ERP implementation, requiring a need to hire a third party consultant to update requirements to pass the second audit.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Coordinated and executed a major order for The Hudson’s Bay Company, resulting in an ongoing, growing business relationship. Orchestrated production for 8,500 units by creating a new shift and training staff to handle the increase in production. Successfully executed resulting in an order for 16,000 units and then 32,000 units in subsequent years.
Managed the planning and delivery of major manufacturing projects for retailer Costco. Regularly coordinated product manufacturing, including an order for 60 trailers of 200,000 units that was delivered on time.
CANADIAN MARKET PLANT LAUNCH
Collaborated with the Plant Manager to set up initial Canadian operations. Contributed to the development of the manufacturing floor plan, productivity workflow, job descriptions, and new hires at all levels.
Sourced and setup a new plant to accommodate growing production needs. Collaborated with a real estate agent to locate a new facility to accommodate future production needs; tripled building capacity within seven years.
Coordinated the transfer and setup of operations while maintaining a 99% on-time delivery rate.
ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY MEASURES
Led the Canadian plant to become the first within the company to achieve zero waste to landfill. Selected a company to collect waste and incinerate it for energy production. Implemented the new process or all waste to be recycled.
