SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

• Florida Care Properties-I was hired in June 2015 to present to work at Florida Care Properties to work in a day program workshop with people with physical and mental disabilities.

• Assisting Hands- I was originally hired by Assisting Hands in November 2013. Worked with the company as a caregiver providing assistance to the elderly with various disabilities. Duties included housekeeping, meal prep, showering/assisting with personal hygiene, recreational activities. In approximately April 2014 took a leave of absence due to my mother needing more care. Rehired by Assisting Hands in May 2015.

• In August 2013 moved to Ft, Myers, Florida from Connecticut. Due my to mothers deteriorating health. Prior to moving to Florida was recovering from surgery due to an injury as a result of an accident that occurred in January 2013. I was 6 months on medical leave/ short term disability from my full time job under my Dr's care.

• July 2011 to June 2013 employed @ The Town of Newtown, Ct., Sandy Hook Senior Center where I was employed as a secretary at the front desk. I was responsible in assisting the Director and Assistant Director at the center, duties varied daily. I set up for recreational activities, special events and town meetings that took place at the center as well as assisting the Director when two major storms hit the area in bringing food and water or relocating the Seniors to a safe place until power was restored and their homes were safe for them to return to. Answered phones and filing daily, responsible for all trip sign up sheets and receipt of money for activities and membership. Computer use in word, excel and documents for bi-monthly newspaper and billing for the teachers that taught different activities.

• April 2011 through July 2011 employed @ Home Instead Senior Care, Trumbell, Ct. Worked one on one with four elderly clients with various medical issues. Providing direct care and to help assist the clients stay in their own homes providing support to my clients and their family members. Assisted in daily living skills, meal prep, assistance with personal hygiene and ambulation, accompanying clients on recreational activities. Left when offered the Senior Center position.

• December 2009 to March 2011 Southwood Gardens, Property Manager of Bunker Hill Woods, Waterbury, Ct. Answered phones, showing apartment, worked directly with property maintenance and owner in regards to any property-tenant issues. I was responsible in showing apartments and lease signing, dealing with tenants issues and collection of rent. Worked with state run agency for Section 8 tenants. Collection and data entry of accounts receivable and the payment of property related bills. Left due to owner of buildings default of mortgage on.

• December 2007 to August 2008 North American Family Institute (NAFI) in Farmington, Ct. Position was an awake overnight as well as filling in as needed for 1st and 2nd shift. The group home had 4 teenage boys living in it all with special needs. Completed all needed training for the job such as PMT, CPR, Medication Certification through the state of Ct., first aid and data documentation in regards implementing behavior plans and daily living skills programs. I was a case coordinator for one of the boys which required me to attend meetings and compiled data and documented on computer as required. As a staff member helped to get the boys ready for school assisting where necessary depending on their individual skill level. Transportation to recreational activities as needed. Forced to leave position when the State of Ct. changed the requirements for staff members working with children with special needs.

• June 2004 to December 2007 Institute of Professional Practice (IPP) in Meriden, Ct. Manager of Strongtown Group home that housed 3 clients with severe psychiatric and physical disabilities. This position included staff scheduling, staff training, writing staff evaluations, Excel training ABA training, PMT training, CPR trained and instructor, medication certified by state of Ct. as well as daily checks on medication, ordering of client medications and insuring medication protocol and procedures were always adhered to. As well as the monitoring of clients funds and bank accounts and of petty cash for the Group home. During this time ran an in-house day program for 2 recently retired clients (1st one in IPP history) which provided and implemented during a 6hr. period Monday thru Friday. Was also the direct liaison to case managers, client guardians, day programs and all medical professionals in regards to the needs of the clients as well as the writing and the implementation of client specific programs, individual plans and quarterlies. My responsibilities included the upkeep and maintenance of the day to day running of the group home operations which included all state updates and regulations, fire drills, emergency procedures etc.. On call for the group home 24/7 Mon.-Fri. And every 4th weekend to 6 other group home,

• November 1989 to June 2004 direct care staff at Arrowhead group home run by the Institute of Professional Practice. This group home housed 3 women that had severe psychiatric and behavioral challenges. Provided emotional support to clients, taught daily living skills, adhered to behavioral programs and recreational activities to support community awareness. Assisted the group home manager in the running of day to day operations of the group home. Worked as a case coordinator throughout the 15 years of employment which consisted of the implementation and documentation of client focused data. Attended clients medical, psychiatric appointments and PRC, medication certified through the state of Ct., CPR certified, first aid, and Support trained. During this period worked per diem with Autistic pre-school children as well as adult day program as well as well as having an Autistic client reside part time with my family and I.
