University of Ontario Institute of Technology Aug 2014- April 2015 Internship - Research Practicum Student for Sub-Clinical Neck Pain and Multisensory Integration Study

Pursued different methods of data collection by researching and distributing different protocols to coordinating professors while analyzing the collection of data for significant differences

Worked under the Research Coordinator in the Health Sciences Research Lab to test for the cognitive effects of chiropractic therapy on subclinical neck pain before and after 4 week of therapy. Completed 207 hours during the practicum which consisted of conducting and analyzing cognitive tasks using Cambridge Cognition, Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Power Point and Microsoft Word.

Assisted with the collection of subjects for a pre and post cognitive test of chiropractic manipulation in regards to sub-clinical neck pain. Played an integral role in the coordination of experimental procedures and management of participant scheduling as a research practicum student by aiding in the recruitment of 50 students who successfully met the requirements of the study.

The responsibility of our team was to reduce the amount of chronic workplace injuries by assessing workstations and re-designing based on our data.

Within the team my role was to calculate the NIOSH, Garg Metabolic, Strain Index, RULA, BakPak, Snook, and Mital based on pictures and measurements of the work site.

Created safe workstations by assessing the posture, physical demands, equipment environmental factors, and keyboard use. Implemented ergonomic principles to help to prevent workplace injury or re-occurrence of injury for employees who had to re-stock shoe boxes.
