Though diversified in different facets of the automotive aftermarket and dealership experience, I believe that it has given me a greater understanding of dealing with and better serving the customer's need. I hope to explore long term career plans with your company that results in a mutually beneficial relationship.

Dear hiring manager,

I am submitting my resume for consideration of employment as the Service Manager. I hope you will take a moment and review my credentials that span over 30 years in the automotive service and parts industry. I would like to take a moment to explain why I changed careers and spent several years managing at a fuel service facililty. When General Motors restructured their plan they decided to terminate Pontiac as a division and make a decision which Cadillac dealership survive, the company that I was working for had two dealerships. I was the Service Manager for the Chevrolet dealership and the larger dealership was the Cadillac/Pontiac dealership. When the restructuring program was instituted, I was faced with the concern that our Cadillac franchise had been revoked and Pontiac was no longer viable, resulting in the Chevrolet dealership would end up as a stand alone dealership that was incapable of shouldering the burden of supporting what was lost. I then made the decision of relocating to Florida, where I had a better chance of supporting my family regardless of career path. I am very fortunate that I was given the opportunity to reestablish my automotive career with Ferman automotive and Ed Morse Cadillac in the position of Asst. Service Manager and service advisor have made great strides in making up the lost time and knowledge, but there is a gap in promises made and expectations realized after working these previous months and feel that exploring other options to continue my automotive career is in my best interest. I certainly hope you will take a moment to review my credentials and give me the opportunity to meet you face to face and compete for this exciting position. I promise if given the chance with your company that I know that I can make a difference. I appreciate your time in advance and certainly hope to hear from you in the near future.

Sincerly,

David Quinn
