The HRD Department of APSCL conducts lots of training programs for development of employees of APSCL. These training program includes on-job, off-job, internal, external, local and foreign trainings. Sometimes external resource person are hired. There is a full equipped Training Center in APSCL run by HRD. Sometimes employees are sent to renowned institutes in local and abroad. Stores Management System APSCL

APSCL has 9 power generating units. Two of them are recently retired. Now the station capacity is 671 MW. In addition construction of one 225MW CCPP, two 450MW CCPP and one 200MW Modular power plant projects are going on. Presently there are 35000 kinds of spares and general items in APSCL warehouse. The consumer of these items are mainly electrical and mechanical maintenance departments. The electrical & mechanical dept check the stock. If the items are in warehouse, they put requisition otherwise they request for purchase. The procurement dept process the purchase procedures as per government procurement rules. After delivery, concern dept certify the quality and Stores Dept receives the items. All these operations are done through Stores Management System by maintaining all integrity and security. Attendance & Access Control System APSCL

APSCL maintains Employees attendance through Finger Print Attendance System. Employees are working in geographically different positions like main power station, new project site, training center, medical center and school run by APSCL. This system collects employees’ Entry/Exit data from all finger Print machines in a regular intervals and stores in a central server. All supervisors can monitor their subordinates from their workstations. The HR Dept and Accounts Dept extracts attendance and late reports from this system. This system also ensure authorize access though magnetic lock attached with doors and controlled by the Finger Print machines. This system is integrated with HRIS. APSCL is a class 1 KPI (Key Point Installation). So ensuring security is one of the main concern for the company. This system ensures patrolling of Security Supervisors to the defined routes. This system uses RFID tags installed to some important points. Security Supervisors patrol through the routes with Guard Patrol Machine. Each Supervisor starts their tour by initialize the machine with his identity and when reaches the RFID tag, time and other information are then updated. APSCL is a class 1 KPI (Key Point Installation). To ensure security, important areas of power station are monitored CC cameras. PTZ cameras, IR Cameras, normal cameras are used for this system. All areas are watched from CCTV control room 7/24 basis. The DVRs are recording video and connected to LAN. So authorized persons can monitor from their PCs. There are also four IP Cameras to monitor ongoing power plant project works. Management can watch three different project sites through internet from anywhere in the world. This is an effort to make less paper office. Lots of inter department communications are done in APSCL. In addition copies of orders/circulars are distributed regularly. Specially HR, procurement and Operation Depts are generating huge documents. Before implementing this system huge number papers were printed or copied and distributed. It involved lots of costs and time. Now this communication are done digitally through internal mail and save paper, ink and time. LAN, WAN, Internet, Intranet, Wi-Fi Zones APSCL

Corporate Office Building, Plants, Control Rooms, Chemical Plants, Warehouses, Procurement Building, Accounts Building, Civil Building, Security Gates, New Power Plant Project Sites, Training Center, Medical Center and School within this huge area are connected through fiber optic backbone. More than 150 workstation are now under wired connection. Beside these at present there are 4 large Wi-Fi zones. There is also WAN communication between ministry and APSCL. The work for WAN communication between liaison office in Dhaka and corporate office in Ashuganj is going on. Broadband Internet connectivity also available. Most of the application systems are running under intranet based infrastructure. All IP enabled devices like attendance system, IP Cameras, NVR, DVR etc. also connected to LAN. It is importantly mentioned that all works have been started after joining to APSCL in 2006.
