Honeywell November 2006 – March 2015
Worked as a CNC machinist. I did set-ups and troubleshooting my own machine. Maintained tools and updated set-up books. Ran 5-axis machine centers and helped in deburring when they got behind.
Damon Products November 2003 – October 2006
Damon is a cell driven company we worked as a team I learned 5-axis machine centers. Damon required us to keep inventory and pack product for shipment. We also preform our routine PM’S on the machines as well as department clean up.
Schaffer Gear Works September 1994 – November 2003
Schafer was expanding and needed a qualified CNC Gear Cutting lead person. I hired on as a lead person. I was responsible for training of operators, organizing cells, scrap reduction and set-ups. Worked closely with Engineering on trouble shooting existing set-ups and tooling design changes that lead to reduced set-up times and improved product quality. Was promoted to Gear Department Supervisor where I was responsible for all labor force issues. At my request due to schedule changes I moved off shift where I assisted the shift Forman with training new operators, machine maintenance, problem solving and Quality Assurance. I also ran cell production as time permitted.
Global Gear January 1992 – September 1994
Setup position responsible for CNC Gear Hobs, CNC Gear Shavers, Mazak VTC$!S and Tripet NC I.D. grinders. I trained operators and several setup people. Authored work instruction manuals for CNC Hobs, CNC Shavers and the Tripet NC I.D. grinders which they translated in to three different languages, and are still in use today. Promoted to Supervisor after 3 months in 1992 the company purchased a Hurth shave cutter sharpener. Based on performance I was asked to oversee the shave cutter reconstruction project. I attended training seminars for the process and I am a specialist in the utilization of the Hurth Cutter Grinder.
Overton Gear November 1989 – January 1992
Production operator/setup on gear shapers and gear grinders. Manufactured new and rebuilt gear boxes. The company paid for me to relocate.
Indiana Gear Works March 1975 – November 1989
Manufactured helicopter transmissions. Started as a gear grinder. Promoted to lead person, assisted with training issues and was heavily involved with tooling modification and design. Frequently involved in the decision making process for addition of new production equipment. The company changed owners and was ultimately moved to a location in Ohio.
Education
High School Graduate. I have attended several continuing education classes in the Management/Supervision field. I have also attended many machine and equipment specific technical training seminars and vocational classes which are trade related. I have also attended Statistical Process Control classes and have a very good working knowledge of SPC data collection.
