EXPERIENCE
ALPHARMA, Baltimore, Maryland
2001 to 2015
Research Scientist II, Scientist III - in R&D Laboratory,
Duties include development of HPLC and GC methods for analyzing liquid and semisolid pharmaceuticals, validating stability indicating methods and presenting data in validation reports. Other duties include analyses of raw material needed for preparation of Product
Developments batches, test Product Development, Formulation Development, bulk and finished products for ANDA batches and Accelerated Stability samples.
ALPHARMA, Baltimore, Maryland
1998 to 2001
Chemist II - in Quality Control Laboratory,
Duties include testing of raw materials used in the manufacturing of liquid pharmaceuticals, finished liquid pharmaceutical products and stability samples utilizing GC and HPLC equipment, reviewing and presenting computerized data to QA.
Other duties included testing pH, density, dissolution in finished products and stability samples.
PHARMAKINETICS LABORATORIES, INC., Baltimore, Maryland
1990 to 1997
Chemist III
Duties include development of HPLC and GC methods to analyze pharmaceuticals in biological fluids and validating them with respect to ruggedness, stability, precision and accuracy. Other duties include the preparation of biological samples for analysis and preparation of chemical reagents; operation of appropriate instrumentation such as pH meters, analytical balances, top loading balances, centrifuges, evaporation equipment, GC, HPLC and LAS; and troubleshooting problems.
THE JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, Baltimore, Maryland
1987 to 199
Research Technician
Responsibilities included biochemical and pharmacological investigation of the mechanism of toxicity of certain antibiotics and how their toxicity relates to vitamin K metabolism and blood coagulation.. Enzymologic assays were performed using radioactive materials and their incorporation into peptides, which are isolated. Some assays were performed spectrophotometrically. Additional assays were performed by HPLC, which includes maintenance of the HPLC as well as troubleshooting. The syntheses of compounds related to vitamin K were performed. Since equipment was interfaced with computer, the ability to operate an IBM PC was required.
Responsibilities also included maintenance of the lab, ordering supplies from vendors, and data analyzing.
PHARMAKINETICS LABORATORIES, INC., Baltimore, Maryland
1986 to 1987
Laboratory Technician
Duties included extraction and injection on HPLC of biological samples in order to compare brand name drugs to their generic counterparts.
ROSWELL PARK MEMORIAL INSTITUTE – DEPT. OF EXPERIMENTAL
THERAPEUTICS, Buffalo, New York
1979 to 1986
Laboratory Technician
As a laboratory technician in the immunopharmacology laboratory, duties included preparation of stock solutions and sterile materials for cell culture, handling of radioactive materials (counting and disposing), cell counting, injection of animals, quality control of products, and keeping records and inventory of laboratory supplies.
Other duties included carrying out assays of the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity present in normal and regenerating liver. This evaluation involved the preparation of ion-exchange columns, purification of cell extracts, incubation of assay mixtures and determination of the enzyme activity in these assays.
ELECTROCHEMICAL PLANT, Minsk, Byelorussia
Chemist
As a chemist in Corporate and Research Development, responsibilities included the research of the quality of varnishes, polymers, and lacquers applied for the purpose of insulation of the electrochemical items and cable. Other duties included research in electro-galvano technology; determination of the concentrations, viscosity, and pH moisture of contents of fluids used in electro-galvano technology; ordering and saving of raw materials; waste recycling; innovations and troubleshooting.
EDUCATION
