Administrative Assistant, Division of Pastoral Care
Assisted indigent and needy patients and family members to solicit services and request funds to help cover part of their medical expenses.
A primary accountability was to support the director in planning and implementing activities designed to maintain and improve relationships with patients, pastors, laity, Trustees, the public and medical center staff. Many of these individuals were affiliated with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina or other ministries of benevolent care.
An ongoing parallel responsibility was to assist Liaisons with the Convention in a broad spectrum of activities such as developing written materials for annual and quarterly committee meetings; holding fund raising events and donor recognition dinners.
•Evaluated immediate needs of patient and family members, explained procedures and protocols; referred individuals to appropriate sources for help: medical appointments,
financial aid, and grief counseling.
•Recognized for improving financial processes and procedures.
•Completed monthly financial reports.
•Responsible for disbursement of Discretionary Funds. In FY 2013 processed 1,258 requests for assistance.
•Supervised and mentored volunteers and a part-time secretary.
