Sheila Mart’s theatre background (as an actress) has been invaluable to her when writing stage plays. One of her latest - GENERATION KEEPERS - has had two readings to date. Currently she is working on a new play – THROUGH THE AGES. A previous play - SINGULAR CONFLICTS - had three staged readings. Both of these plays were performed in New York City and received enthusiastic receptions. These were preceeded by CHOICES - a full-length drama about relationships. Another of her plays - (ROOM)MATES - is an urban comedy reflecting a common facet of modern society. These last two plays have also had staged readings. Sheila has also written a murder mystery - MURDER THEATRICAL STYLE, and recently completed a play entitled TEMPING. Love Creek Productions produced one of Ms. Mart’s short one-acts entitled THE LINEMAN, in the Autumn festival of one-acts in New York City. This production was under consideration for the annual Samuel French Short Play Festival. Also, Sheila has produced another two of her short plays, LOST WISDOM and DECISIONS at John Chatterton’s Short Play Lab. These were followed by a staged reading of a new

short play, THE SEVEN AGES OF WOMAN.

Ms. Mart has completed several screenplays, mostly suspense-thrillers - A RINGING FEAR and DANCE OF DEATH are examples of this genre. She has also written a fact-based M.O.W. screenplay entitled TO SERVE OR NOT TO SERVE. As a change of pace, her latest screenplay is a drama spanning a forty-year period, entitled PSYCHIC BYTES. She is currently working on a short screenplay which goes back in time and is inspired by a true event - entitled THE BLITZ. She is also working on another piece – MOVIE MAGIC.

Recently, Ms. Mart wrote a sitcom entitled ROMANCE, INC., excerpts from which were recently aired on Public Access TV in Manhattan. The video is available for viewing.

Ms. Mart has written several short scripts for a show that ran on CBS, called MAGISTRATES COURT. These were courtroom dramas along the lines of today’s PEOPLE’S COURT, although far less explicit. MAGISTRATES COURT then moved into syndication and ran on CBC, Toronto.

She has also reviewed shows for OOBR (the Off-Off-Broadway Review) Magazine. Another area of her work is a collection of short stories for children, entitled TRAVELS WITH THE MANDY SISTERS.

Shortly after coming to this country from her native England, Ms. Mart wrote a short article called DIVORCE AMERICAN STYLE, published by Woman’s Day.

Ms. Mart graduated from London University with a BA in English and is also a member of The Dramatists Guild.
