Sole Mechanical Engineer for small advanced currency sensor R&D group. Work closely with Optical & Magnetic physicists to develop production ready high speed currency sensor systems. Support multiple projects concurrently in pre-production, from developing requirements, conceptualization, 3D CAD design, prototype testing, part & assembly drawings with BOMs and documentation release.

Support ongoing operation of DSRV (Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle) Mystic for NAVSEA. Ensure documentation was up-to-date per USN SUBSAFE program. Travel to Mystic as needed.

Technical disposition for factory level repairs to critical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Inspect SRC (Submarine Rescue Chamber) support systems and design recommended changes for Navy planning yard approval.

Provide on-site expertise and support for special NAVSEA projects. Required on-call work with short notice at NAVSEA locations.

Design innovative sheet metal cPCI, VME64 & ATCA chassis (electronic packaging) conforming to IEEE 1101.10 & 1101. Systems designed for safety (UL/TUV etc.) and EMI/EMC; testing as required. Support prototype introduction (NPI) via DFM & DFA process.
