Calvin and Hobbes is a substance free activities club, and our mission is to provide a safe place a fun activities to students who do not wish to be a part of the drug and alcohol culture on campus. As president I led weekly meetings and scheduled events every weekend with my executive board.
Accomplishments
● I engendered a sense of community and welcomed new members, helping the club to grow
● I reached out to underclassmen students and encouraged them to participate in leadership roles, helping to ensure the future of the club
● I hosted weekend events ranging from small retreats to events with over 100 people.
President and Founder, LCCC Chess Club

During my time at community college there was a severe lack of student clubs on campus. I was a member of my high school chess club before college, so I decided to start a chess club on campus as a way to reach out to people and bring them together.
Accomplishments
● Chartered a new club through the student government, and authored its constitution and bylaws
● Used my graphics design skills to create flyers and school TV ads to advertise for the club
● Within one semester, the LCCC Chess Club became one of the highest attended clubs on campus, with over 30 members attending weekly meetings regularly
President of Service, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Sep 2011 May 2012
Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society for students of two year universities whose mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement of two year college students, and provide them with opportunities to grow and develop. As president of service, my responsibility was to plan and set up fundraisers and community outreach.

● Reached out to local businesses to partner with them and sponsor events
● Had a leading role in organizing fundraising events such as an LCCC Bowl For Kid’s Sake, and a Pink Ribbon Ride for the benefit of breast cancer research
