Southlake Family Medicine
I am working in an urgent care position and work 5 days per week. I see acute visits and have seen as many as 30 patient’s per day order x-ray’s, lab tests, interpret tests, x-rays perform burn care, laceration, wound care, splinting, perform physical exams, pelvic exams with pap smears, interpret and read my own ecg’s. I currently am the sole provider in the after hours clinic. I work with Pediatricians, Internal Medicine, Family Practice providers, I started this position in November of 2012, I am currently looking to work PRN in either an ER or busy urgent care to keep up my acute skills while honing my primary care skills.
OSF Prompt Care
I worked in three different urgent care sites and two different retail clinics. I worked with another physician at the urgent care sites and I was the sole provider at the retail clinics. I cared for all ages. Everyone could be seen at the urgent care clinics and we did not see anyone less than 18 months at the retail clinic side. I was responsible for my own patient load saw approximately 25 patients every day sometimes more. Suture simple lacerations provide burn care, fracture care, reduce simple dislocations, digital block anesthesia, pneumonia acute asthma exacerbations, closed head Injury, hospital transfers for more acute MI’s initial care and stabilization of more serious illnesses. EMR charting was performed on Epic. I took this job because Take Care was undergoing restructuring and unfortunately I had the lowest seniority at Take Care. 2011-current
Take Care Clinic
This was a job that I took because Proctor replaced the ER group that hired me and the mid-levels, and we were let go for the new group to come in. I was offered the job with the new ER group but I would have to be unemployed for 6 months till the new group came on and I decided it best to find another fulltime job. This was a retail setting and I saw acute minor illnesses and performed a lot of physicals. I did continue to work for Proctors new ER group PRN. 2010-2011
Proctor Emergency Department
I was hired for the Lead APN position in the main ER at Proctor hospital. First time this hospital had employed mid-levels in the ER. Responsible for schedule’s of all midlevel-providers. In the main ER I was responsible for all types of acute illnesses/injuries. Acute heart problems trauma patients, I took care of all ages including pregnant females. I was responsible for more complex dislocations, more complex lacerations consulted with ER physicians as needed. I was responsible for the work up and diagnosis of pt’s needing hospital admission, wrote hospital admission orders, and orders for the 23 hour observation patients, and this hospital had not yet converted to the electronic record. 2009-2011
Methodist Medical Center, Methodist Medpoint
Care for all ages needing acute care as my current job requires saw 25 or more daily,
I consulted with physician as needed. I left this position for a great challenge at Proctor ER 2008-2010
Methodist Emergency Department PRN
I worked PRN in the ER for Methodist. I would see and care for approx 4-6 pt’s at a time in the ER. Job duties were such as the Proctor ER however, I was more autonomous here because I was the only provider. This area was connected to the ER and functioned more like a step down unit and took more critical patients. I would walk across to the main ER if I needed to consult with a physician. 2008-2011
Methodist Heart Lung and Vascular Institute
This was my first job as an APN, I was hired to work with an interventional cardiologist and performed cardiac stress tests, persantine stress tests and performed history and physicals before patients went to the cath lab. I was the hands, ears and eyes for my collaborative physician while he was in the cath lab. I also cared for his patients that he performed interventions for peripheral vascular disease. I saw new consults, ordered medications, adjusted medical regimens and followed pt’s while they were in the hospital. I saw patients in the ER; ICU’s and followed them to discharge. 2005-2008
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: RN

• Position held for 12 years
• Lead RN, Level II Trauma Center
• Emergency Department Preceptor
• Emergency Department Education Coordinator I took care of all the educational needs for the ER nursing staff by getting them scheduled for yearly education days, performing in-services for new equipment, I persuaded our hospital to invest in the Broslow crash carts for pediatric pt’s, then implemented them hospital wide for all pediatric floors and performed all the in-servicing for this equipment. The hospital needed to include a new “code” name that I brought to the hospitals attention and we named ours code pink so the responding code team knew that it was a pediatric pt that they were responding too when a code was called.
