●Coordinated and supervised work controls and test administration for Reactor Department upgrades during a $1.5B+ Nuclear Aircraft Carrier’s Refueling & Complex Overhaul.
●Flawlessly troubleshot, organized, managed and repaired vital Propulsion and Nuclear Plant Equipment under the most extreme of time constraints; to continue the ship’s operation while forward deployed in multiple War Zones and combat situations.
●Formulated, implemented, and supervised a maintenance work package of over 2000 jobs during a time intensive complex nuclear refueling overhaul. Lead Reactor Maintenance Division to the completion of the work package two full months ahead of schedule, keeping it 40% ahead of the Department, saving the Navy more than 30,000 man-hours.
●Awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for maintaining the best prepared Main Machinery Room in recent history by senior inspector during two major nuclear inspection visits.
Leadership and Supervision: Strong leadership skills with demonstrated performance in high-pressure, time intensive and budget/resource limited environments. Proactive in positive change of organizational performance through mentoring, program/process review and improvements, and applied leadership techniques learned from numerous corporate Supervisor & Management training courses and workshops. Supervised and managed the Predictive, Preventative, and Corrective maintenance program at Edwards Power Station; this includes the management of 20 certified propulsion plant Repairmen, Electricians, and Instrument and Control Technicians, as well as plant and coal yard operators.
●Successfully managed Bargaining Union Employees during arduous times such as lay- offs, new contract negotiations, and pension and benefits reductions. Despite these hurdles we safely increased production and efficiency, reduced overtime hours, cut our inventory budget, reduced the Maintenance back log and improved Plant energy Market reliability.
●Acknowledged for being highly effective in training others, and to have instituted a rigorous training routine, dramatically increased the knowledge of maintenance and operations, and certifying qualification of approximately 500 junior machinist mates.
●Managed and supervised the day-to-day actions of 50+ U.S. Navy Reactor and Propulsion Plant Operators and Maintenance Technicians.
