EXPERIENCE
The Times of Northwest Indiana (1994-2015): Served as a contributing editor within an award-winning sports department of a near 90,000-subscription daily newspaper. Created and managed an innovative "Community Sports Section" which catered specifically to nine zones -- Illinois, Hammond, Ridge, Tri-Town, Crown Point, Hobart, Merrillville, Valparaiso and Portage -- amid our readership area. Managed and edited a team of staffers and correspondents, and produced the bulk of the material, including stories, features, columns, enterprise projects, photography, online video, blogs and podcasts as well as designing the section's pages. Secured exclusive interviews with many celebrated figures and not-so-celebrated figures who had compelling stories to tell nonetheless.

Chyzy Brothers (1987-1989): Worked for the South Chicago-based moving company while going through college. Job proved to be a class course itself: Work for a Living 101.
Play it Again, Sam (1986-1987): Stocked and cleaned the Dyer restaurant bar -- nothing is more serene than an empty building on a Sunday morning that played host to a rowdy and eventful Saturday night.
ABC Energy Company (1985-1988): Worked periodically for a solar panel/satellite TV company co-founded by my father.
