I managed the 24 sites on the Southern Region in 10 states. I was responsible for all operations that include train operation, railcar inspection and repair, auto site vehicle handling, auto rack loading, auto rack multi-level pretrip inspection, certification, and repair, box car prep and repair, mobile repair work, trailer hostling, drayage and industrial switching. I was responsible for three area managers, a safety manger, and twenty four site managers. This includes all aspects of safety, production, and financial aspects of each site.

Managed Yard and Shop Operations on a day to day basis atone of the largest A Hump Terminals on CSX. I frequently participated in the TAPS process and handle derailments and clean up. Managed Car Inspectors in the day to day operation of an A Hump Terminal.

I was very involved with my employees and their skills. I participated in Terminal Operations in Buffalo. I worked closely with the General Foreman in making manpower and operating decisions.

Carman/ Safety Director August 2002 - April 2007

CSX Transportation Madisonville, KY

Inspected inbound and outbound trains making repairs and finding defects with railcars. Defective cars were put in a shop area where we performed all needed repairs ranging from welding to pipe fitting to overhaul.

As Safety Director I was responsible for all safety reports, action plans, and daily briefings of all employees, identification and correction of unsafe actions, conditions, and behaviors. I also ordered and maintained a stock of all needed PPE and safety accessories. I stayed active with management and employees alike, working well with both.
