August ****
Attention: Human Resources Department
Hello….I would like to express my interest in applying for the available position advertised. I have previous experience with claims and the legal field (working for Angel Reyes' firm for a couple of years, where I assisted five attorneys and their paralegals). I have most recently been employed by DII Industries, LLC Asbestos PI Trust, and worked there for nearly eight years.
I believe I would be an excellent candidate for the position. I am a meticulous organizer; a bright, quick learner; and am certain that I could become a valuable asset to your company. I also have an extensive background involving assorted clerical duties (sorting, copying, mailing, faxing and processing documents); data entry; and legal filing.
Regarding computer skills, I am proficient in Microsoft Word and WordPerfect. I am also acquainted with several other programs such as Lotus Notes, Time Matters and Needles. I also have some limited experience working with spreadsheets (Excel).
As for formal education, I have two years of college credit from the Dallas Community College District (75 credit hours) from Eastfield and Richland. This includes two semesters of journalism courses working on the campus paper as an editor and reporter, a student internship at the Dallas Morning News, and a couple of classes in paralegal studies.
My lengthy interest in communications has provided me with strong writing ability and cultivated a tremendous attention to detail as well. Lastly, I have also always been extremely dependable and consistent in my work ethic. For verification purposes, I have several academic and professional references provided on the last page of this document.
If you would like to schedule an interview, please contact me at your convenience. I can be reached by phone or email; my cell is 972-***-****, my home number is 214-***-****, and my email address is: **********@***.***. Thank you very much for your time and considering me as an applicant. I look forward to hearing from you! Take care.
Sincerely,
Lisa Murillo
