IES (Integrative Emergency Services): John Peter Smith Hospital Emergency Department (12/13 to present) FNP

Duties: Assess, diagnose and prescribe to acute and chronic patients presenting to the fast track area of ED (Acuity level 3, 4 & 5). Minor procedures including, but not limited to: suturing, staples, I&D, nail removal, foreign body removal (based on hospital protocol), and splint placement. Perform pelvic exams and OB issues for patients < 20 weeks gestation. Ordering and evaluating lab tests and doing appropriate consults and follow up as needed. Contacting admitting physicians and writing temporary ED admission orders. Float to main ED when needed to assist physician with higher acuity patients depending on number of patients in ED.
