DOCUMENTS REVIEW AND COMPLIANCE:

Receipt of Coating Specification and enforce it.

Receipt of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and adhere to it.

Receipt of the approved QA/QC Procedure and comply to it.

Receipt of the approved QC Report Format and use it for reporting.

Review Qualification of personnel to ensure that the required skill is there.

Review Calibration certificate of QC instruments to ensure that those are from the approved agencies and are valid.

Review Technical Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets of the approved Paint Materials to ensure that those are available at site.

Review Technical Data Sheets/Broachers and Test Reports of the approved Blast Abrasive to ensure that those are available at site.

Receipt and review Batch Certificate of Paint Materials to ensure that the materials have been tested and inspected in accordance with the applicable standards before dispatching to site and shelf life is valid.

INSPECTION:

•Inspection of Paint Stores at site to ensure that it is in line with the recommendation of Paint Manufacturer.

•Inspection of QC instruments to ensure that those are in good working conditions.

•Inspection of Blast Abrasive to ensure that it is specified/approved material.

•Inspection of Paint materials to ensure that those are specified/approved materials.

•Inspection of work site to ensure that it is suitable for paint work.

•Inspection of the surface to be coated/painted before and after surface preparation.

•Inspection of Production date, Expiry date & shelf life of coating materials before use.

•Inspection of the surface during and after paint application to ensure that the applied paint is free of all coating defects. (Blistering, Blushing, Crate ring, De-lamination, Dry spray, Fish eyes, Misses /skips, Mud cracking, Orange peel, Runs, Sags, Wrinkling).

TESTS:

Blotter test.

Nozzle Capacity/pressure of air test.

Abrasive soluble contamination test.

Measure Climatic/Environmental conditions such as surface temperature, Relative humidity, Dew point and wind velocity.

Roughness of steel after it has been blast cleaned in accordance with current Standards.

Measure the wet and dry film thickness of paint.

Discontinuities test (holidays, pinholes) in paint.

Adhesion test of paints.

Barcol/Pencil hardness test of coating.

Conduct all destructive & non-destructive tests as per specification.

REPORTS:

•Surface preparation such as Method of preparation, Standards, Abrasive used, Cleanness, Roughness and Climatic conditions.

•Coating such as Method of coating, Paint system, Number of coats, Weather condition, Air temperature, Maximum relative humidity, Steel temperature, Dew point, Paint Specification, Paint Manufacturer, Batch number, Production date, Expire date/ Shelf life, Required DFT in microns, Measured WFT in microns, Measured DFT in microns.
