LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
I graduated from California State University Fullerton in the summer of 1997 with a bachelor of arts in Liberal Studies. Shortly after, I attended California Polytechnic University, Pomona where I began the multiple-subject teaching credential program. Later, I transferred to Azusa Pacific University where I completed the multiple subject credential program and recently obtained my master’s degree in education. I currently hold a clear preliminary multiple-subject credential and a BCLAD.
As an educator, I feel I have a great deal of experience in the classroom in all grade levels, especially in elementary and middle school. I taught 2nd grade bilingual and 3rd grade at Meadow Homes Elementary School in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Prior to Meadow Homes, I taught 2nd grade bilingual at Edward Downer Elementary School in the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
Before teaching full-time, I was a substitute teacher for several years, mostly in elementary and middle school. When I was a substitute teacher, I did two long-term assignments. One was in a 3rd grade bilingual class, and the other was in a 4th/5th grade combination class. I began to substitute again after I moved back to southern California in June 2011. I moved from northern California where I lived for four years and taught for almost three years in that area. I am currently still substituting after just having completed a master’s program in education at Azusa Pacific university.
My goal is to continue teaching and help students succeed in education. I truly love to teach and there is no other job that I enjoy more. If I am offered a position in your school, I will do my absolute best to ensure that the students receive the education that they deserve.
Sincerely yours,
Juan J. Martin
