Good Afternoon,
I am very interested in the nursing position posted. I have spent the past 13 years dedicated to my nursing profession. At the age of 17, I accepted a position as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a Long term care facility. That position was a life changing experience for me and I believe it was at that time that I choose my Career path. I was introduced to true human compassion and empathy. I knew that I would someday be a Nurse.
After raising my children I was preparing to return to the work force. I decided to fullfill my longing to become a Nurse. I applied and was accepted at Kaynor Technical College in Waterbury, Ct. I excelled in my courses and at graduation was presented with LPN of the Year award. What a true honor!
Since that time I have taken pride in my career, and have truly enjoyed caring for others. I was a Charge nurse for approximately 9 years at a Long Term care and Acute care Facility. I have excellent assessment skills as well as experience with IV medication administration, wound care and wound vacs as needed. I have had residents with G-Tubes, Trachs, billiary tubes as well as chest tubes.. I have also taken courses for IV administration and wound care /documentation / and staging courses.
The unit I was in Charge of was partial long term care and part acute/rehab. I have had many different residents. Residents with Alzheimers, Dementia, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Quadraplegia and Diabeties as well as Surgical rehab residents. I have excellent organizational skills as well as excellent communication skills. I deal very well with family members and enjoy working as a team to provide individualized care for each resident.
The last 5 years I have worked as an MDS Coordinator. I have experience with Quaterly and Annual Assessments as well as Medicare and Managed care Assessments and Rugs. I organize and Run care plan meetings with the Team as well as with family members.
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated employee and have worked for the same company for over 10 years. I consider myself to be a Team player and a true patient advocate. I have choosen to re-locate to SC to be closer to my daughter and grandchildren.
Thank you for your consideration for the position. I would be honored to be a part of your Corporation.
Sincerely,
Marina Battaglino LPN
