Masters of Mechanical Engineering 2015
Specialized Areas of study during the course of the master’s program covered internal combustion engines, HVAC and advanced thermodynamics.
Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering 2014
Deans Honor Roll 2010 - 2015
Overall GPA: 3.63
University Scholar (Top 8% of entering Freshman - Class of 2014) 2010 - 2014
Bronx High School of Science 2005 - 2009
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
MATLAB computer programming, AutoCAD computer assisted drawing and technical drafting, Solid Works 3D drafting and visualization, Auto Desk Inventor 2011 Pro 3D drafting and visualization, NX-8.0 (STL formatted drafting used for 3D printing), VEX Robotics programming and construction, General working knowledge of Microsoft office 2013 professional, Bilingual in Spanish and English
Engineering and Science Related Experience
Currently conducting independent research projects in producing clean energy. The projects include finding ways of combusting material in a way such that the waste products can be recycled and be used again as fuel, as well as developing “smart” clothing or wearables which can harvest temperature difference between human body heat and the surrounding environment to produce electricity.
Cooper Union, Summer Research Intern (Mechanical Engineering), Summer 2009
Conducted a study of energy harvesting from waste heat. Experimented with plants in an insulated tank, while observing the effects of running waste heat through the ground on plant growth.
Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Project Fall 2013 - Spring 2014
Designed a self-powered animal tracker, capable of relaying the wearer’s position to an accuracy of less than
2 feet. Project extended over two semesters.
Derived Navier-Stokes equations for 3D fluid motion, as a research collaboration with Professor Foluso Ladeinde.
Spring 2013 - Summer 2013
Tutored peers/ classmates over the course of the last 5 years. Tutoring included subjects from mechanical engineering, calculus, physics, chemistry, applied mathematics, computer drafting, fluid and solid dynamics and economics, as well as other non-engineering related subjects including philosophy and creative writing.
Work Experience
oNature Publishing Group, Summer 2012
Summer Intern for Office Services. Charged with sorting assorted materials in storage, spreadsheet management, spreadsheet inputs and general office services.
oNorth Shore LIJ Health System, Hospital Volunteer, Summer 2008
