Project Engineer

KTA Tator Inc. provides facility owners, contractors, fabricators, and manufacturers coatings and corrosion engineering and inspection, field and laboratory analysis, and environmental health and safety consulting during any phase of a project. Performed field inspection, failure analysis, and managed field repairs of dual laminate (thermoplastic lined FRP) process equipment and piping constructed of PVC, CPVC, polyethylene, Halar, and PVDF. Conducted field investigations of carbon steel structures including visual examination for signs of coating failure, gross deformation, and general and pitting corrosion.

Used calipers to obtain pit depth measurements and ultrasonic thickness gage to determine plate thickness. Used a magnetic gage to determine dry film coating thickness. Conducted field examinations of steel and concrete structures including tanks, piping, and tank foundations. Performed buckling (elastic instability) calculations for structures under negative pressure loadings, such as those due to external soil bearing loads for underground equipment and those found in positive pressure and vacuum loading of ductwork, scrubbers, piping, storage tanks and pressure vessels. Performed calculations for process equipment due to seismic and wind loading. Knowledgeable about the Boiler and Pressure Vessel code for the State of Pennsylvania. Publications
