Three years AutoCAD technician:
Working as an AutoCAD technician for Pan American Engineers, I gained further knowledge pertaining to my degree as a Civil Engineer. Pan American worked with the latest version of AutoCAD at that time and other software produced by Autodesk such as CAD overlay. As an employee, I assisted Civil Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors prepare plans and other graphs for various types of civil engineering needs for the parishes in the Alexandria vicinity. We also worked with Eagle Point surveying based software that worked with AutoCAD to perform various calculations and drawings. Pan American Engineer’s largest client was Wal-Mart and Murphy Oil gas stations attached to the Super Centers store parking lots. We always worked on at least two to six different Wal-Mart stores at a time which all had to be attended to in a timely manner due to deadlines. I taught myself not only the Drafting side to the field but also the managing skills on priories of my work.
Fugro Chance career:
I began my career at Fugro Chance on December 12 2005 as a survey technician. I was introduced to a whole new world of surveying. Being in this position, I was able to learn as much as I could about the instruments used and their maintenance required, communicating with different people on each new job, and the important role of offshore surveying. After 6 months of hard work and dedication, I was promoted to assistant party chief for the company. It was then that I could pass on my knowledge to others and prove my leadership qualities. As an assistant party chief, I mainly navigated lifeboats and derrick barges. I also spent time on dive vessels working with structures and pipelines. Approximately one and a half years later, I was promoted to Senior Party Chief. Most jobs as a Senior Party Chief are rig moves and derrick barges. I have also performed various work from different vessels utilizing the Total Station to gain a true heading orientation and setting production mud mat jackets. I also have had an opportunity to lay pipelines off of Horizon and Broussard Brothers Barges. I take my responsibility very seriously because I know that one mistake could be costly in more ways than one. Each and every time that we provide service to a client, I am able to expand my knowledge and interpersonal skills. My leadership skills are challenged on every job making them stronger due to the various services provided with the different clients and job scopes.
