The Project involved enhancements within IMPLUSE system for various functionalities such as Client Setup, Order Management and Reporting which operated in Real Time and Batch mode. IMPULSE interacted with its Partner systems via EDI Transactions and this was achieved by communicating with GENTRAN in order to generate EDI Transactions for both Inbound and outbound activities.
Responsibilities:
Handled end to end implementation of each enhancement task independently from estimation till production install, followed by post production support

Brief description of the project(s):
US Veteran Affairs and Extend Health Implementation Projects involved administration of New Dental Products which was offered to US Veterans and US Retiree population resp. At the same time existing Critical Illness and Full Service dental processes also underwent enhancements. All these 3 projects where being implemented on the same INGENIUM Dental Admin system.
Responsibilities:
Carried out Level 0 and detailed estimation for all 3 projects.

Brief description of the project:
MetLife was awarded the Contract to administer TRICARE Dental Policies for TRICARE Management Activity under the purview of Undersecretary of Defense. TMA provides Medical and Dental coverage for Uniformed Service members, Retirees and their families. For MetLife this was a new customer which with its onset brought a huge volume of business and had the potential to grow in other areas as well. In this project, iterative (spiral) development methodology was followed.
Responsibilities:
Worked with MetLife SMEs in designing the entire system flow right from Initial Data load to end processes such as billing and correspondence.
Contributed actively in several brainstorming sessions to understand the format of initial data which was highly sensitive in nature and to formalize a strategy to load these millions of participants into new system.
Created High level and Low Level Technical specification documents and coordinated with Offshore team to develop based on the design provided
Created huge amount of test data to do volumetric testing and individual functional testing, as real data was unavailable.
Coordinated with several infrastructure teams to setup new MQs, new DB2 tables, new CICS transactions

Brief description of the project:
3 different Corporate Benefit Funding Applications residing on Mainframe Platform were planned to be moved to a new JAVA based Global Administration Platform. To set up the rules on the future state Administration Application, the current (Pricing, Pensions, Structure Settlement) applications needed to be assessed in terms of Interfaces and Data elements.
Responsibilities:
Carried out extensive Data Analysis across all three applications (using SQL queries) to identify Data elements which were logically inactive or erroneous in the legacy system so that they are not ported into the new Java based system.
Created several data discrepancy reports based on the data analysis performed. These Statistics proved useful while estimating for the new system development.
Assessed all the Interfaces involved in these 3 legacy applications to identify common and uncommon Interfaces among them. Further, the common interfaces were assessed in depth to identify common and uncommon data elements. Finally, created detailed mapping documents to depict this analysis
Coordinated with Offshore Teams to articulate all the analysis in detailed documents which were to be used as input while estimating for new system development.

Initial system was built around 2004. This project handles application enhancements on a Release basis.

This assessment project was basically to implement systems, processes, and operational procedures that will reduce the effort for Pensions’ Administrators to create and process participant correspondence. Within this application, the assessment scope involved assessing Annuitant processing, Payment processing and Tax processing which involved generating correspondences
Responsibilities:
Performed in-depth analysis of core areas of correspondence i.e. annuitant processing, payment and tax processing.
Studied the current Business Processes and overall IT work around involved and identified Pain Point areas in these process
Proposed resolutions for these pain areas and articulated documents with proposed state flow diagrams. Used MS Visio to create Flow diagrams
Evaluated the efforts involved for successful implementation of the recommended solutions using PATNI Plus estimation template

After acquiring Travelers (another insurance company), MetLife’s Group Annuity Payout Business, wanted to convert the historical data of Travelers into existing system. A new system was developed to hold the historical value and access the same. The data was converted and then loaded into different tables on within this system. Nearly 32 new CICS screens were created to access the historical data.
Responsibilities:
Carried out analysis for different enhancement requests and mapped these requirements to the operational systems.
For each enhancement implementation, created Technical design documentation, test cases, conducted coding and unit testing without any schedule variance.
Performed reviews at several stages of development life cycle to maintain quality of deliverables
