Photocopy selected portion of charts that are going to be either send out or faxed out to Doctor’s offices, Clinics, Insurance Companies, Law Firms and with the patient to other Care Facilities. Work on Sequestered Charts. Cover in OCC in R.O.I. when needed. Log all requests received into the Release of information area to included, doctor’s office, Insurance Companies, Law Firms, Clinics as well as WSIB requests for information.

Do training of new staff in the photocopy area as well.

Complete data stat sheets which includes number of phone calls received, number of faxes dealt with, number of patient reports are assembled for filing into patient charts.

Over my 25 plus years I have worked in the following areas: Payroll Administrator – Human Resources department, Ward Clerk Emergency Department, Ward Clerk Pre-Admissions, Ward Clerk Labour and Delivery. Also worked in Health Data Resources and the Core Labs. When I was working full time we would do a payroll for 3500 full time, part time and causal staff. As well we dealt with 4 unions and their dues reports as well as pension reports to HOPP and benefit reports to the service companies.

Do all reports and filing reports and results into patient files. Do reports for the department on admission, number of deaths and the normal department work.

Answer phones calls from floors to assist them with patient admission or inquires concerning bed available.

Human Resources - Staffing Officer –

Working within a team in the Staffing Office working rotating shifts and staffing for 2 locations:

Etobicoke General Hospital and Brampton Civic Hospital

Using availability forms submitted by the employees from all units would call and schedule staff for the units according to the needs of the units.

This could be done in two ways Short Call Needs 0 – 7 Days out for the units or 8 days to 12 weeks this is dependent on the work schedules submitted by either the nursing manager or the resources nurse.

The schedules would also allow us to schedule staff during busy times such as vacation relief and holiday time periods

Staffing needs using full time, part time and casual employees assigned to the floors through a general staffing pool.

Sending to the floor daily staffing sheets which were based on a 12 week rotation schedule using a permanent schedule submitted by floor management.

These staffing sheets were used to report to the floor who was the scheduled employees to be working on the unit and on what shift they should be working. The employee would sign in for their shift and at the end of the day and after reviewed by the nursing management of the floor faxed back to the staffing office to be used as input into the payroll system daily to create the hours used for the biweekly payroll system.

If there was a dispute between what was worked and paid the employee would contact the staffing office either through email, fax or phone call and we would investigate and review all hours that were submitted by the floor and if need be an email would be sent to the payroll group to create a second deposit to be put into the employees bank account.

Reviewing the biweekly vacation, sick, stat and overtime banks created by the staffing office to confirm the information was accurate which enabled us to pay out to the employee on a timely manner.

Rotate within the team working the following area: Short Call Desk, Advanced Desk, Payroll Time Entry and General Office duties would assist over six thousand employees all levels of the organization.
