Source Code Design and Validation for Universal Aircraft in-Cabin Wireless Test Communication Systems (UWB, ECMA-386) consisting of elaborate and user friendly Custom Test Step Suites to drive multichannel parallel RF testing of multiple UUTs. Developing Universal Test Stations for Electrical Power Distribution units.

June, 2004 – August, 2014 Sr. Software and Test Engineer, Varian Medical Systems, Palo Alto, CA

Developing FDA compliant automated Test and Calibration software and procedures for high energy modules used in Radiation Therapy. Designing and validating imaging techniques to control physical parameters of the e-Beam and X-Ray:

1.Achieved significant time reduction for the “Final Test” (QC) on manufacturing floor.

2.Implemented various measurement schemes to monitor Microwave Field Distribution inside multiple. resonant cavities (S- and X-Band) of the Linear Accelerator

3.Modeling and simulation of the e-Beam optics using Finite Element Analysis.

4.Designing multi-cavity RF waveguides, motion control systems for E-field distribution measurements.

5.Developing high-precision measurement system for magnetic field distribution inside RF waveguides (based on digital communication of “Smart Sensors” with FPGA, Xilinx Virtex-II 3M, Firmware, )

6.Writing testing software packages to control distributed processes of electron emission in a high vacuum for Linear Accelerators (with Web Based control using WCF middleware linked to MS SQL)

7.Implementing first in industry PXI based Vector Network Analyzer for RF Cavity Frequency Tuning

8.Developing .NET and C++ libraries for Machine Vision DSP Firmware Algorithms using Matlab Compiler and Image Processing Package.

2003 – June, 2004 Software Engineer, Advanced Energy Industries, Inc., Vancouver, WA.

Implementation of Distributed Instrumentation and QA/QC Test Systems based on Real-Time PXI (Compact PCI) and FieldPoint Bus Controllers for the needs of Semiconductor Wafer and Laser Packaging Production. The Test Suite features

1.Asynchronous execution of the Test and Calibration Scripts on unlimited number of Test Stations.

2.Message Queued Script Engine Server with unlimited number of client connections, sophisticated Math Library.

3.Connection to the SQL Data Base to store Test Data, Specifications, “Pass/Fail” criteria, and parameters of Hardware Resources for Instrumentation.

4.3D Animation of the Physical Process during testing (modeled using Matlab Simulink).

1997 - 2002: Validation Engineer, PK Technology (NETTEST), Inc., Beaverton, OR.

Designing distributed software packages for Automated Calibration, QA Testing, and Production of measurement equipment used in Fiber-optic industry.

Developing and validating new products for the Design and Engineering releases.

1.Upgraded Automated Production line to Windows operating systems: assembly and installation of test new stations for Calibration and Quality Control of OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers); network setup; configuring GPIB, DAQ, and DIO interfaces; creating class libraries to connect corporate SQL server with Test and Calibration program modules; LabVIEW coding of both Test and Calibration software.

2.Designed message based, distributed Automated Calibration/QC Functional Test software suite for a new product: portable/embedded, optical, high precision multi-channel spectrum analyzer (DCOM, Remoting, Scripting).

3.Developed a wide variety of instrument drivers based on VISA standards for GPIB, PXI, IIC and RS-232, 485, and USB interfaces.

4.Modified embedded algorithms for the optical Frequency, Power and Signal to Noise Ratio measurements. “Frequency” algorithm is based on out-of-band referencing for the Fabry-Perot tunable filter (Matlab DSP Package for Embedded Systems).

5.Conducted detailed validation of new products: Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers.

6.Involved in the process of identifying and qualifying replacements for obsolete and defective optical and electronic parts (semiconductor lasers, FP interferometers, APD detectors, tunable lasers, etc.), trouble-shooting calibration and QC test equipment.
