Galaxe Solutions/CVS Caremark, Somerset, NJ

03/2011-Feb 2014

Tech Lead

Benefit Builder (ETL) project : Benefit Builder is in-house tool built by CVS Caremark/ Galaxe solutions for migrating Benefit Plan data to RxClaim System. Benefit Plan information comes to Benefit Builder tool from many different source systems and in different file formats like CRDs(XML) and CIF(Xlsx). The data is converted and stored into oracle table for further processing. Here, the data is also parsed in order to make sure it meets the business requirement. During parsing, invalid data is rejected entirely or partly and reports are sent back to the source client. Benefit Builder tools also applies series of business rules to the meta data in Transform stage. This data is again converted to flat file (BPF) and then gets loaded to RxClaim using the BPL tool.

This automated tool has benefited CVS Caremark considerably by helping the Plan migration 100 times faster and with no room for manual error.

BPL (ETL – Load Stage) project: BPL is in-house tool built by CVS Caremark/ Galaxe solutions for loading data into RxClaim system. The data is converted from XLS format to BPF files before loading them into RxClaim. It has helped CVS Caremark to upload data in mass during migration.

Client Connect Gaps project is implemented by CVS Caremark to help Recap Customer to migrate to RxClaim system. There were many gaps which were identified by the Business experts between the two application systems. In order to bridge the gap between the two systems, gap projects were created for each wave cycles. Both Batch processing and Adjudication system of RxClaim application was impacted. All the members will be moved from Recap to RxClaim System. Along with the members files, History Claim Load file, Accum file and PA files also needed to be moved to RxClaim. Each member old claims are again adjudicated prior to the move. There were several edits on Plan Options which were implemented as part of the project. Due to complexity and risk involved, the project was done in waves.

Single Source Generic project implemented by CVS Caremark will allow the Network participating in SSG program to process the claim with Single Source pricing rather than Generic pricing. Single Source Generic allows the Client or Pharmacy networks to participate in the Single Source Generic Program. SSG Drug list containing Single Source Generic drugs can now be defined independent of the network and later mapped to the network. The project allows flexibility to the network to define pricing scheduler at various level – product, list or network. Adjudication logic is initially modified for certain types of claim.

Now, Program NDC/ GPI list could be created and attached to Benefit Pricing Profile Network. During Claim Processing, Adjudication will check if the network is participating in the SSG program. If the drug is matched against the drug list attached to the network, the price schedulers are searched based on the priority. Upon first match the claim is paid based on the new price schedulers for SSG drug.

Cross Platform Age-In Transfer project implemented by CVS Caremark provides functionality for Quantum Leap (QL) Commercial client to migrate to RxClaim Med D. A process was created to send a file from RxClaim to QL Eligibility that identifies the members who transitioned to Med D from QL Commercial.
