PROJECTS

Reducing Labor Costs in Manufacturing Plant using DMAIC Jan’15- april’15

The plant hired additional labor from 3rd parties as a cost effective method which rather proved expensive.

By using problem solving tools, we identified the root cause and decreased the operating costs.

Tools used: PFMEA, Fish Bone Diagram, Minitab, Pareto charts and time series plots.

Simulation Planning on Material Requirement Planning and Support System (MRP-DSS) April’14

Used excel tool to increase the profitability of selling two products alpha and beta which had varying weekly demand.

Initial demand was filled from inventory on-hand and backorders were strategically placed to replenish shortage.

Statistical Analysis for Mileage Of Three Cars Jan’14-May’14

Data collection plan was designed to capture average miles of Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.

T-test and Anova test were performed using MINITAB to understand and analyze the distributions.

The average MPG for Honda Civic proved to be the highest with 95% confidence.

Application of Value Engineering in Enhancing Value of Automobile Actuator Assembly May’14-July’14

Enhanced the value of the actuator assembly by simplifying the design, yet performing the same functions.

Value methodology steps were implemented using Benchmarking, functional analysis, FAST diagram, Brainstorming, T-charts, Prioritizing matrix.

Project Management Paper on “Importance of Time Management For a Competitive project” July’14

Performed a case study and analyzed the root cause failures for timely delivery of projects by managers.

Identified successful techniques, strategies and steps to develop a time management process.

Investigations on Welded Dissimilar Boiler Tubes Jan’13-May’13

Examined the characteristic behavior of widely used boiler tubes AISI 306 AND AISI 316 in the thermal power plant.

Presented a paper at The International Conference for Materials and Advanced Technologies-Singapore.

Tools Used: GTAW, Tensile Testing, Solidworks, Microscopy & Corrosion test to study their technical properties.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Expertise in Lean Operations, Value Stream & Process Mapping, Continuous Improvement, Kanban, Production Operations, Strategic planning and Project Management.

Strong foundation on Six Sigma (Green belt Certified) methodology that reduces defects and wastes in Manufacturing Process, Optimize process, lower production cost, and improve customer satisfaction

Strong knowledge in analysis software using different tools like MiniTab, ANOVA to perform tests and thereby preparing reports, charts to demonstrate existing trends, calculations.

Comprehension on the impact of supply chain management and logistics on enterprise efficiency

Proficient in Statistics, Deterministic Optimization, Quality Control, Value engineering, FMEA, DFMEA, GD&T, CAD, Solidworks & MS-Office.

Team player with excellent analytical, problem solving ability, management and communication skills.
