Katanga Mining Limited
Title: Senior Construction Project Manager
Date: 2012 - 2015
Duties Included:
As the project was an EPCM, I was Construction Project Manager with responsibility for managing the Katanga Mining project including compiling and managing budgets for approval up to $3.8 billion. Having created a scope of works and evaluated tenders, I managed the Construction, Engineering, Piling, Extensions, Upgrades and Retrofit of an existing copper and cobalt mine which I achieved successfully below time and budget constraints saving the company millions in costs. As well as supervising the management of Mining Construction and Civil Works, I managed various other projects such as planning and management of the installation of Crushing Plants, heap leech ponds & pile and tailing dams, managing the design and erection of Bridges, culverts and road building, supervising the construction management of a Stockpile facility and managing the installation of Pumping Stations. In addition to obtaining relevant permits and adhering to Health & Safety policies, I managed the training and up-skilling of local employees using forward thinking methods to ensure excellent standards and, as supervisor of Mine Maintenance, I achieved $million cost savings using innovative ideas and solutions.

Duties Included:
I was responsible for a wide variety of industrial, commercial and residential Construction Project Management duties including, but not limited to, preparing tender documents, acquiring and negotiating contracts, management of resources and labour, progress and budget reports, Health & Safety and ensuring effective communication with clients and all stakeholders including architects, engineers, designers, trade unions, suppliers and concerned citizens. I gained extensive experience in both construction and rail through this role with some of my biggest achievements including:
-taking the helm as one of the main contractors of the €300million Rapid Rail System known as the Luas in Dublin (red and green line) including civil works and preparation of route as well as stations and associated works.
-Extensions and renovations to existing Water Recycling Plants
-Installation of port loading facilities, jetty docking berths and associated works
-Installation and fitting of elevators and lifts in hospitals, shopping centres and government buildings
-Supervising the restoration of listed Georgian period buildings within preservation guidelines including creation of basements, underpinning and tanking
