TITLE:
Soft start of 3 phase squirrel cage induction motor by using thyristors.
DESCRIPTION:
Initially at the beginning stage the induction motor draws high starting currents because of the low impedance offered by it. This will causes peculiar problems such as electrical stress on windings, mechanical jerks and even sometimes the windings also gets burnt. Our project is to reduce those high starting currents to a rated value with which the motor can withstand. It’s like a starter which eliminates the problems faced by the existing starters used for the induction motors.
