I attended Worcester Boys Trade School in Worcester, MA, and have experience in the machine shop environment on both manual equipment, inspection equipment and CNC equipment. I have extensive knowledge of shop math, complex blueprint reading, inspection and machine shop practices.
I joined my father’s job shop in 1984 after 4 yrs. in the Navy. I worked mainly on precision machines including lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and precision grinders to shape materials such as steel, bronze, brass, iron, aluminum, and plastics, to manufacture components . I also worked on CNC equipment (Daewoo, Pratt & Whitney, and Matsuura with Fanuc and Yasnak controls) making parts for auto and aerospace industries, as well as Velcro clippers, gear blanking, journals for the paper roll industry, prototype work for various companies, and repair work for customers.
I was previously employed at a defence company, making military firearms, as a night shift supervisor, until the company closed. My duties include supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in production machining of metallic workpieces, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, machine tool setup and operating techniques, and production machining methods, as well as repairing machine tools and altering programs to improve production.
I have obtained a vast knowledge of cutting tools, from carbide to endmills and drills, working with engineers from Seco Carboloy, Kennametal, Iscar, Sandvik, and learning speeds and feeds along with cutting tool applications.
I have experience with setting up and running CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, manual lathes, Bridgeports, Drill presses, O.D. & I.D. Grinders, Surface Grinders, Jig Bores, Vertical & Horizontal band saws.
I have attached a resume which details my qualifications and duties. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss a management position.
