Accomplishment assurance of the SLA defined by the customer. Plans definitions for taking actions to fix any deviation.

Reception and managing of new requests or improvements to the commercial process, proposed by the customer. Assignment of the requests to the team members, according the size and complexity and also to the skills and specialization area of each consultant.

Management of the fails, found by the support team itself while proactive analysis or those received straight from the customer or end users.

Tracing of each development status working together with the consultant team and the software factory team.

Testing cycle’s certification execution.

Quality assurance for improvements and fixes released and installed into the production environment.

Responsibilities:

Leadership of 15 member’s team of SAP SD Consultants, all we in charge to complete the task of implement SAP SD functionalities for all the Central and South American countries and also Caribbean countries. The Sales & Distribution process was a main piece inside the commercial process known as ‘Quote to Cash’, that was in fact composed by four areas, CRM, Account Receivables, Sales & Distributions, and BI all of them interacting between them.

Activity plan definitions for the project, and activity assignments for the team members.

Leading the SD team in the implementation process through all its phases, definitions, ToBe documentation process, configuration settings, functional designs, testing set elaborations and executions, master data managing and definitions, coordination of integral testing in interaction with other SAP modules, training process coordination, and go-live phase.

Coordination with other SAP modules team members and leaders, to achieve final definitions for those process that need the interaction of all these modules, LE, FI, CO, PP, HR, etc.

Coordination and communication with the team members that remained at the headquarters and the ones that were sent to each country.

Responsible of the accomplishment of the time schedules previously defined.

The implementation was applied for the following countries, in a two years period, taking from four to five months for small groups of three or four countries, Peru, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Jamaica, Haiti, Bahamas, Salvador, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina. For each of these countries we had to consider fiscal and governmental differences and the way of managing the processes but trying to fit all of them into the institutional way process that had been previously defined by CEMEX.

At the same time, we were in charge to support the operation continuity of all these countries that had already had the go-live phase, mixing the managing of the support request with the ongoing projects.

Internally we had divided the team on small teams, or pairs of consultants specialized and oriented to a specific subprocess, inside the Sales and Distribution process. Personally, besides to lead the team, I was in charge of all the topics that were related with the sales documents definitions, and some of the developments that have interaction with them, having in our catalogue more than 80 sales documents used in different process and according to the needs of each country.

Also in charge of activate the settings needed to open new business branches on those countries that had already had their go-live phase.

Manage unexpected changes in the schedule plan or last minute definition changes on the commercial process.

Interaction with Brazilian and Argentines SAP consultants to handle the complex tax models on those countries and also the SAP specific settings for those locations.

Results/Achievements: Successful implementation of SAP (Sales and Distribution module) for all the Latin America counties and smooth handling of the support for ongoing process.

As a personal achievement I got a promotion from Senior Consultant to Manager.

The entire SAP application was divided into cells and each cell represented a SAP module. Each cell receives all the requests related for its SAP module, for any the customers, and I handle the issues according to the politics and SLA stablished between NEORIS and that specific customer. I was able to take care of any request for any the customers at the same time, using specific tools defined for each of them. The challenge here was on handling more than 20 different companies and different process at the same time, using the standard SAP definitions and also handling specific settings and Z process for every single company without unattended the SLA for each one.

As a personal achievement I got a promotion from Business Consultant to SAP Senior Consultant.

From January 2000 to May 2002 I had my participation in the roll out and implementation project to launch JDE 7.3 into all the cement and concrete plant around Mexico, this roll out last two years, after that I was requested to go to Guatemala to continue with the same implementation.
