WORK HISTORY
Envisage Information
Systems (EIS)
Ithaca / Syracuse, NY
Jul. 2013 to Oct. 2014
Software Developer
Worked on small teams in an Agile Environment.
All projects were Java based, using Eclipse as an IDE and Subversion for version control.
Converted a financial back-end system originally written in Delphi that returned XML data and used Microsoft SQL into a modern Java based solution that returns JSON and uses Oracle SQL as a database.
Investigated various JavaScript charting libraries (based on D3.js) for use in a new product / product rewrite.
A majority of my time was spent writing new code as well as modifying and refactoring existing code for a prototype web application. This application was developed in JavaEE & JSF (Primefaces) and makes heavy use of the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) design pattern. Other technologies used include PostgreSQL & MongoDB databases. jQuery was used (sparingly) on the front-end. We also used Guice for Dependency Injection (DI) & Apache Camel for routing.
All projects used Selenium & JUnit for testing.
Other technologies used include Ant, Maven and Liquibase. Saab Sensis Corp.
East Syracuse, NY
Oct. 2012 to May 2013
Researched COTS products for use in/with 3DELRR software e.g. Layer7’s SecureSpan SOA Gateway and RTI DDS.
Designed the interfaces for the 3DELRR system and co-authored the Interface Description Document.
Utilize documents of varying engineering details such as requirement documents, interface design documents, software design documents and vendor documentation.
Designed a human interface to the multipath prediction tool for Saab Sensis’ ATC Sensors (MatLab).
Comfortable using new tools e.g. MatLab, DOORS, Krakatau, Beyond Compare 3, Razor & JIRA.
Created several types of UML/SysML documents while modeling radar systems during the PDR phase.
Used tools to count SLOC’s and support software costing based on reuse.
Can analyze, and modify requirements for clarity, conciseness and testability.
Linked requirements to document flow-down and support requirement verification as projects progressed.
Authored various engineering reports, specifications and technical memos for 3DELRR and SSR.
Contributed to presentation preparation for major defense program PDR.
