While working as an intern I was exposed to the state’s electronic filing and scheduling systems. I also assisted eight attorneys with investigations regarding client claims, classified information for pre-trial discovery, interviewed witnesses, assisted with preparing witnesses for trial, assembled trial notebooks, conferred with court personnel, as well as wrote Motions to Dismiss, Motions to Suppress, and other forms of legal writing. Additionally, my responsibilities were to prepare trial notebooks and perform legal research as needed within the office. At the request of Mr. Cobb, my internship was extended beyond the academic requirement. I acquired a firsthand knowledge of the Rules of Criminal Procedure as well as the Rules of Evidence.
