Key Projects

I-Serve @ CC: I.Serve application for its Customer Centre is part of the DBS Bank Singapore's wider 'Effortless Banking' initiative, that combines key customer service functions with a consolidated view of the customer. The scope of the project is to provide a single user interface to Customer Centre staff by integrating 13 commonly used applications to enhance customer experience by providing relevant customer interactions for banking enquiries, authentication, requests, offers, and complaints handling. By re-engineering processes and unifying multiple front-end systems into a single platform for its Customer Service Officers (CSOs), I.Serve have led to significant improvements to key CS indicators such as reductions in average call handling and waiting times for customers whilst allowing for more personalized and informed interactions between the CSO and customer via an integrated client dashboard. By becoming a model case for customer experience and service excellence, the project is a WINNER at the 6th Annual Retail Banker International Asia Trailblazer Summit and Awards in “Service Excellence in Customer Experience” category.

eLife 3.0 and Transformation: The purpose of eLife 3.0 is aimed to revamp the existing eLife (Consumer Fixed service from Etisalat) offerings that shifts focus from the traditional bandwidth driven propositions to a content driven one. The revamp aims to improve the product’s acquisition targets, increasing fixed revenue, retention of the current customer base against future assault, and simplify current complex product portfolios. The purpose of the eLife Transformation initiative is to automate and optimize the existing service fulfillment process that manages the flow of service fulfillment activities in an effective and efficient way. This automated solution will minimize the manual intervention, eliminate system rejections and human errors, and enhance customer experience through user friendly channels (Smart device apps, customer/retailer portal, sales agent interaction systems, Customer Care Center etc.).

G3 Clearing and eDDA: As part of the ongoing modernization of the banking infrastructure in Singapore, there is an initiative by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in conjunction with the clearing operator and Banking Computer Service (BCS) to develop and implement an Internet based, real-time payment system in addition to the existing eGIRO bulk clearing and offer new Cash services via 3rd Generation local clearing network in Singapore. The objective of the first phase of this initiative is to drastically reduce the turn around time (15 seconds TAT) for Inter-bank payments and collections having 5 minutes SLA for customer to enquire the status on the Internet Banking Channel. For the first phase of the project, the scope was to implement a reliable online interface at Core Banking application to perform Multiple Transaction posting (Fund transfer between 2 or more accounts for Same Currency) requests from Payment and Collection systems with limited turn around time. The second phase of the initiative is to provide an electronic solution to Direct Debit Authorization (DDA) mandate setup known as eDDA. For this second phase of the project, scope was to implement a reliable online interface at Core Banking application to handle DDA mandate setup, amendment, termination and suspension requests and trigger SMS notification to customers on the status of request

FATCA: The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), enacted in 2010 as part of the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act, is an important development in U.S. to combat tax evasion by its citizens in holding investments in offshore accounts. Under FATCA, U.S. taxpayers holding financial assets outside the United States must report those assets to the IRS. In addition, FATCA will require foreign financial institutions to report directly to the IRS certain information about financial assets held by U.S. taxpayers, or by foreign entities in which U.S. taxpayers hold a substantial ownership. The scope of the project was to enhance existing interfaces between Core Banking application and Customer On-boarding systems to capture the essential FATCA information from customers and to expose the information to downstream reporting systems

GPBS Implementation and Client Pricing Repository: GPBS (Global Pricing and Billing System) is a centralized Fee Billing System used by WB (Wholesale Banking) which receives transaction and other static details from various TP systems to calculate the charges to be applied to the customer. Upon calculation, the charges are sent to Core Banking system for charges posting. The scope of the project is to implement interfaces between Core Banking application and GPBS system to assist in charge calculation and posting. The scope also involves providing additional interfaces to build a Client Pricing Repository in GPBS (which sources information from all TP systems) by providing information available in Core Banking to help provide customized and optimized billing experience to customers

S2B Re-Architecture: Straight2Bank (S2B) is full suite of electronic delivery channels for Wholesale and SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprise) clients used in SCB. It is a fully integrated secure electronic platform across Cash, Trade, Global Markets and Securities Services. S2B offers clients a single point of access to their transactions, hedging and information needed to streamline their work processes. S2B is also able to scale according to client's needs for product simplicity or sophistication, giving them complete flexibility to choose the right banking connectivity they needed. The scope of the project is to optimize the interface between Core Banking application and S2B to provide customer account and transaction details at real time.

Mobile Banking Implementation: The scope of the project was to provide an inexpensive channel for SCB to service their customers for their basic queries about their account. This project was initiated by the Africa region of SCB. As part of the solution, we converted a basic mobile phone into a channel where by bank can provide most of the transaction, which required customers to utilize a channel like branch, ATM or call center. Through this solution we were able to attract people from high cost channels to low cost one and provide round the clock access to customers to banking transaction on their own convenience. During second phase of this project, we started offering more services like fund transfer, utility payments and mobile top up. This was the very first mobile banking solution which used USSD technology to provide an interactive, secured mobile application which can initiate financial transactions without any client implementation. Later this solution was rolled out to other countries in MESA (Middle East and South Asia) like Sri Lanka, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, and Qatar

SMS Gateway: The scope of the project was to provide an SMS Gateway service across Africa and MESA regions of SCB to facilitate triggering of SMS messages to customers. This gateway was designed to be used for triggering transaction alert messages as well as broadcast messages
